I was just watching a nature show on television and lo and behold,

they mentioned that red colobus monkeys in Zanzibar eat charcoal from

various sources to rid themselves of dietary toxins!

How smart of them...

A quick search of GOOGLE:

http://www.google.com/search?q=zanzibar+colobus+charcoal & start=0 & ie=utf-8 & oe=utf\

-8 & client=firefox-a & rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official

Macacues also eat clay " to rid themselves of dietary toxins and cure

digestive problems " according to this TV show..

They also showed lots of other animals using natural substances to

cure various diseases..

I adopted a stray cat that was already a year old but did not have

fleas due to fact that he rolled around in every dry dirt patch he

came across..like ones that are left behind after some ran, a mud

puddle that turns into hard dirt...like using clay to clean with.

The grittiness of it in undercoat I think irritates fleas. He was

dusty all the time. Cute cat, all white with large round amber

colored spots on him...I called him Amber. I think he was first

victim of household mold but have no proof.
