Hi Cathe and Steve, Where are you in NC. I'm ready to pack my son off to

sville, NC. He will be there for 9 weeks starting Dec. 11 and I'm scared to

death!! Place he is staying assured me the building is clean, and without

water damage?!!!!!

Hey Steve,

I'm in NC too. I don't have the burning, but I do have a heaviness in my

chest when I try to inhale. My sinuses

hurt so bad last week I felt like my head was going to

literally explode. Ended up going to the health food store and getting a

nasal spray that has grapefruit seed extract

in it--helps a lot. My kids are still having some trouble

getting a breath, having nosebleeds, sinus stuffiness. I woke up early today

thinking how I don't really know if it's mold, I'm still not sure how to get

the place tested for mold,

I'm south of sville. I thought of answering you when you wrote about your

son, but I'm so new to the area I wouldn't be much help, I'm afraid. I think

sville is a very nice area, so you probably don't have much to worry about.

Isn't it on Lake Norman? That's a very nice area, from what I've seen, but like

I said, I'm really new to the area (just moved here this year) so I don't want

to steer you wrong.) My house, on the other hand, (rental) is at this moment

leaking water through the FIFTH or so towel we've laid down to absorb the leak

as it rains outside. Can you hear me screaming??????????

Thanks, Cathe. Yes, sville is near Lake Norman and from what we have read

it looks like a nice area. Big Nascar area. We found him a one bedroom apt. at

the Residence One only 3 miles from the school. They said they are only 5 yrs.

old, clean and dry. I can only hope and pray that's true. I worry all the time

about my children and it is very hard for them to totally understand.

I am so sorry to hear about your rental and yes, I can hear you screaming all

the way up here in land!!I hope you can get it fixed or move out as soon as

possible.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. I will keep your son in mine also. Does

your son know what to keep an eye out for as far as mold exposure symptoms? I'm

so new to all of this as far as information goes, but when I think back, I've

been exposed to mold for a long time. This will really gross someone out, I'm

sure: When I lived with my father and stepmother thirty years ago, I distinctly

remember mushrooms (!!!!) growing on the walls in her shower. Yuk!!!!

And there was a distinct odor...pervasive...throughout the house. I am

wondering now if that was not mold. And what about antibiotics? Aren't they a

mold? When we've had to ingest antibiotics a lot or over a long period of time,

does that set us up for mold

toxicity later in life? Just some questions my mind is asking early, before

it's fully awake...

Cathe, I don't know if he knows what the symptoms are or not but if he

started to complain about his health I would sure know. He spent a yr. in an

apartment while going to school in PA. No problems at all and never even had a

cold so I'm hoping he is one that isn't predisposed for the illness. It always

bothers me that condos and apartment bathrooms are always on the inside without

any windows which is a perfect breeding ground for dampness and mold

growth!!

I can only hope and pray that the apartment is nice and clean and he will

watch out for any water damage.
