Guest guest
Sandi, For Max we only have him wearing pants/shorts with an elastic band all around his waist. The shorts & pants with snaps in the front don't hold up around his cast well. These elastic waists are not the easiest to find. Max actually only went up 1 size. Also, Max is 2 years and we still have him wear a bib when he eats and drinks to prevent the cast from getting wet. Max also gets some redness from the cast rubbing on his hips. The best thing we found to help with this is Aquaphor (it's like vaseline, but not and made by Eucerin. Shriner's Chicago does have food for the children, but I still prefer to bring osme of Max's favorite. Sometimes you need Cherrios or Puffs in a pinch! The hospital does have saltines, graham crackers, Cherrios..... Bring his bottle or sippy cup, whichever her prefers. We always bring it to recovery for Max to have his clear liquids in. Bring his favorite blanket, stuffed toy, books, etc.... Also, we bring his stroller with to the hospital. Max is an outdoors child and after recovery we take him for a walk inside the hospital and in the play area outside. Bring all of your questions and patience. We look very forward to meeting you on Wednesday! Travel safe!
