I never had such tests done, but was just working from having had

the experience of having my own gluten intolerance clear up through

mold avoidance.

In the last couple of months before my friend; " The air here is

poison " finally escaped from her contaminated neighborhood,

/message/26837

....she had been developing extreme fatigue, depression and gluten

intolerance.

But at the same time, she started to go into an intellectual/mental

denial of perceiving the badness of the place, which I attribute to

the loss of high order " logical function " from chronic

neurotoxicosis.

Even though she had seen my mold experience and I had showed her the

Mold Warriors section on antigliadin antibodies expression by

biotoxin exposure - she insisted that her gluten and depression

problems must be from age and stress. She reached the firm

conclusion that she had " true celiac " disease because avoiding

gluten decreased her symptoms, and re-introducing them exacerbated

her problems again. And she certainly knew that when she returned

from work, she sat down and barely had the strength to prepare a

meal, and couldn't stay awake long enough to even watch a movie.

When I drew the parallels between her progressive debiliation and

my own mold situations, pointing out that she had never been

reactive to gluten before occupying " this mold house " , she started

to get mad at me " I am talking about emotional stress from work, and

a genetic gluten intolerance, and you keep wanting to change the

subject to mold " .

I gave up trying to explain it and just helped her move out to a

new place that feels absolutely great to me.

She has since found it completely unnecessary to avoid gluten and

her energy and vitality has returned.

But as far as she is concerned, it is because, for some strange

reason, the stress and fatigue from her job seems to be far less now.

My positive celiac lab tests were done by Quest Labs. I was tested

for Antigliadin antibody IgG & IgA, Antitransglutaminase antibody

(tTG)IgA IgG. It is mandatory though, that one has been eating gluten

(some say at least a couple of months) before taking the tests. I

also have mold exposure and lyme disease, and am going to a doctor

that swears by Dr. Shoemaker's protocol....Cholestyramine &

doxycycline. In fact he is a friend of Dr. Shoemaker and they have

applied for a grant to study further this protocol....Doxy to open up

inflammatory pathways, and cholestyramine to eliminate neurotoxins

from the body. Even though Doxy is an antibiotic that is not the

purpose of using it. I am doing this protocol for one month under his

supervision. If anyone wants more information on this or good links

for info on this, feel free to ask. V
