Guest guest
That is great news! I am sure you will be pleased with Dr. Kishan as well. I will keep my fingers crossed that Landon will not progress! Noelle (12-2-01) Ian (8-15-04) So overwhelmed To recap - was dx'd with a 70 degree curve early June. We're under treatment at St. Louis Shriner's and doing a six month wait time (to which we object) to see how it progresses. Reading the last week here has left me so overwhelmed with information and doctor's names and casting types. So, bear with me while I try to wrap my brain around this. There are doctors who do casting and doctors who do Mehta casting, correct? And in order to do Mehta casting do they HAVE to have some sort of specialized equipment? Which cities are definitely doing that? Does anyone know 100% that Chicago is NOT (Dr. Sturm). I have called him and his assistant and no one has called us back. I'm beginning to feel that this is all in vain and we're going to end up faced with a lifetime of surgeries regardless because of the severity of his curve. I hate this. I hate having to make a decision on this. I feel like no one out there (in the medical field) cares or is listening to us. Sandi

Guest guest
That is wonderful news! I am very happy for you and Landon. Keep us posted as to how the 3 month check up goes. Jill and > > I just received a call from Jane in Erie. Dr reviewed Landon's x-rays and is measuring him at 20 degrees (5 degrees less than we were previously told by another ortho) and his RVAD is only 6 !!! He doesn't believe it to be progressive but wants him to have x-rays again in 3 months as there is no absoulute that it won't progress. We have an appointment already with Dr Kishan in Loma (who is Mehta trained) next Wednesday the 25th and will keep it and follow up with him in the future. > > Tammy > > > So overwhelmed > > To recap - was dx'd with a 70 degree curve early June. Guest guest
Tammy, That is great. Hopefully Landon is one of those kiddos whose scoli. resolves itself. 20 cobb is low and an RVAD of 5 is very indicative it could resolve on it's own. Good to do follow ups to make sure, but that is great. Tell Dr. Kishan, that Cole's mom said " hi! " . and Cole Tammy Proctor wrote: I just received a call from Jane in Erie.
