culture plates

So we did two culture plates from Home Depot so far. I have not done the

outdoor control one (maybe I should have at the same time) or the one in the new

apartment, which I want to do soon.

The one from the air conditioner was definitely growing some nasty shit on there

-- black stuff within less than 24 hours. I sent it to Pro-Lab for testing.

The one from the bedroom is growing something now after 48 hours or so -- some

white looking stuff. Wondering if I should have this tested, too, or if it's

more like a naturally kind of occuring mold in the air???? Guess I should have

done the control one but they didn't have enough tests at Home Depot.

Feeling a little down about the move, because for one thing we just bought a

very expensive mattress a few months ago that isn't even near paid off and I

don't want to pitch that. But I think we are going to throw away as much stuff

as possible, particularly fabric things such as our couch. It hurts but I guess

it is the right thing to do.

Well, any suggestions appreciated. I realize there are pros and cons to testing

and it's not foolproof.

Incidentally we have not been able to get the air conditioner out of here yet

for various reasons, but we have sealed it off with plastic to the outside and

been running the HEPA high speed in the room where the A/C has been, and I have

felt a bit better.
