I am very new to kombucha brewing and just started a few weeks ago with the help

from this group. I started adding strawberries with a green tea KT. I read that

I can add almost any fruit I wish, but I was wondering if there was any fruit or

teas I should avoid. Also does anyone have any fruit/tea combos they would

recommend. I am thinking of doing a green tea/strawberry/orange/ginger combo.

I would like to thank everyone who posts. I read them often and they have helped

me started KT brewing at home.

Hi Ernie,

Welcome to the wonderful world of Kombucha! :)

Tea blends are a great way to customize your Kombucha flavor, though

there are a couple of teas to avoid.

Read my post about the best teas for Kombucha:

id.html

As for fruit, the only one I would definitely stay away from is

Grapefruit. Have yet to hear a good review. Otherwise, experiment at

will and see what you like.

I have a flavoring video here:

http://www.kombuchakamp.com/2011/01/how-to-flavor-kombucha-mushroom-tea.html

for tips on flavoring in the bottle and right in the glass.

Also, you can vary your sugar types for different flavors too:

Glad you are enjoying the process! :)

Hannah and EveryOne,

Links to any Commercial Kombucha sites are _not allowed_ on this list. with the

exception of the list owner.

This list would be overrun with commercial advertising, if it was allowed,- that

is not the purpose of this list.
