Well, our whole family ended up watching the OCD show on Disc.

channel last night. I was worried that it might upset Annie, but she LOVED

it. When they said that the numbers of people now reach almost 3% of the

population, she cheered and said (fist in the air) " we're taking over!! Watch

out world! " We also had group cheers for Dr. Swedo when she came on (one of

my heroes) and other familiar names. After it was over Annie's two main

comments were that she can't imagine obsessing for 12 hours a day. " I only do

it for one, or two max. " That's the first time she has admitted to me that it

is ever more than a fleeting thing. And she said, " I know no one can

understand OCD, even me, but I just CAN'T UNDERSTAND why that lady just

doesn't throw the junk out!?! " I thought it was interesting that even an

OCD-sufferer can't get into the head of someone with a different flavor of

OCD.

And despite some sensationalism, I thought it was reasonably well

done. They did stress the hopeful side of things at least!

Yes,

Jake watched it too and I was afraid that he might get ideas for more

obsessions...it didn't upset him too much, except for the part where the woman

had her daughter taken away...

I tried to explain that they chose the most extreme cases.
