Guest guest
I would like to locate one of Tad 's airstreams BUT He is not making them anymore. Do you have heat and air??? Do you know anyone who would part with one of Tad 's trailers??? My cousin has land I could park myself on. Also a friend in West Virginia has land. erikmoldwarrior <erikmoldwarrior@...> wrote: - Leigh McCall-Alton wrote: > how did you construct your rv??? did you talk to Tad ??? > Yes, I believe I did talk to Tad and that it was he who told me that Airstreams are pretty bad when it comes to condensation. His modified Airstreams are pretty nice, for those who can afford them. I decided to go with my own design, which allows the condensation to run down the inside wall and out the bottom without encountering anything that could grow mold. Well, actually, there's nothing in the camper except metal and plastic, so about the only thing it could possibly find would be accumulations of organic material and dust inside a wall. I bolted together a basic aluminum frame, used steel studs for a four inch wall, and pop riveted on the exterior aluminum skin. Cost about $4,000 in materials. Rather than trying to minimize condensation, I built it in such a way that no amount of condensation is a problem. I could wash the inside with a garden hose, if I really had to. Also I built it as a shell with all areas accessible from the interior, so that if somehow there was a problem, I can take the wall apart and replace virtually everything but the metal frame and skin. Just in case something were to happen in the winter, which is the most " condensation intense " time. I really did get tired of getting kicked around by this stuff. -
