Good morning everyone! My husband just mentioned that there is going to be a

program on OCD on the Discovery Channel at 9 p.m. tonight (that would be

Pacific time). I haven't braved the sleet to get today's paper, but if I get

more details, I'll fill you in.

Hi Joni,

Happy New Year!

yes, i think this was the show you hated. I also think that it was

because I remembered lots of negative reactions to it that I was pleasantly

surprised. I was expecting worse!

I hope 's rash has settled down. My mom used to get weird

reactions to every medication - always one that no one had ever heard of. I

can't tell you how many times we heard, " wow - I've never seen THAT reaction

to X before... "

Good luck with the back to school TRAUMA. I've been loving vacation!

Dear Joni,

O.K., I remember now your remarks about the show. This was a

different one - they were very positive about medications. On the whole they

were quite encouraging. The main point was all the progress that has been

made, and how it is a very treatable condition with ER & P therapy and SSRIs. I

think you were talking about a 20/20 show? Or one of those shows that mixes

news with sensationalism. This was really much better than that.

I hope tomorrow goes well for all of you. We have until next week,

and on Monday Annie gets braces and then sees the therapist, so she'll miss

the first day. And, wonder of wonders, she doesn't care!!! A year or two ago

she would have flipped out completely about missing school (almost as much as

*being late* - horror of all horrors!!!!). What days are these?

P.S. We've had a wonderful winter here - lots of snow!

Yep--- I remember the first half of the show being VERY GOOD. Then,

it totally disappointed me during the second half where they started

overwhelming the audience with medication fears. I'm glad you

finally got to see it.

How's the weather in Reno? We're FINALLY getting cold here in VA.

It's been such an unusual Fall/Winter, with temps in the 60's and

70's. Oh well, I shouldn't complain. We're expecting snow this

week.

's rash didn't take long to clear up. Just ONE DAY after I

stopped giving him the Seroquil, *poof* the rash is gone. He's been

very moody today and OCDish. He was obsessed for an HOUR about going

back to school tomorrow. Crying, whining and worrying about how long

today would last. Apparently, he'd rather stew about this being his

last day off than going outside to LIVE IT UP. Damn if I would do

that!!! It's like knowing you have to go to work tomorrow, and

spending the whole day whining and worrying about it. Next thing you

know, it's time to go to work, and your day off is GONE!!! And, if I

mention the word 'school' in his presense, he goes OFF!! For

example, a few minutes ago I said, " You'll need to take your shower

TONIGHT instead of tomorrow morning, because you can't be late for

school. " Well, all sorts of obsenities were thrown at me for saying

the word 'school.' LOL!!! (geez, the sh*t we parents go thru!)

Later gators!

Joni
