Guest guest Posted March 22, 2007 Report Share Posted March 22, 2007 Hello All, Well, is in another cast because Dr. Khoury said he just wants to be conservative. The out of cast X-ray showed 8 degree curve and 5 degree rotation. He likes the out of cast degree to be less than 6!! So.... is in cast now BUT the GOOD NEWS is she is at 0 degree curve and rotation in this (hopefully) last cast before the brace. They scheduled us with Dr. on June 12, Tuesday 6:00am BUT we meet with him June 11, Monday afternoon since we never formally met him. I was very sad when we said good-bye to Dr. K. but he promises to stay in touch with Shriner of Erie and previous cases. He also said that Children's of AL is going to get him the table needed to cast since there are enough kids from Erie following him to that hospital. I feel guilty for not following him there but Erie is only 2 hours away and she is close to the end. I asked several questions about the brace. He said that our kids should only have to wear the brace for 1 full year and then be " cured " . It just sounds to good to be true because he then said children do not stop growing until 15 yrs. old. would then supposedly be done someone around 5 years old. NINE or TEN YEARS just seems very long without any correction and it stays straight. But I guess one step at a time.
