Guest guest
Hope everyone had a great, mostly OCD-free holiday! Ours was pretty relaxing but only because I took some exra days off from work. Have to go back tomorrow though. <sigh> Poor . I don't know if it's OCD-related since it's classified as an " anxiety " disorder. But Christmas morning, before we even went downstairs, there he was in the bathroom throwing up! Whenever there's something he's looking really forward to, like Christmas, it's like he's so anxious he works himself up to a point and gets sick. He reminded me that he's done this other Christmas mornings, and thinking back on it, I remembered he's right! He's fine the rest of the day. Later that night, his older brother took a Game Boy game that he hadn't been playing for a while and started a new game on it, erasing 's file. hadn't quite won the game, but really he hadn't played it much in the past couple months, although he was at the last stage. Well, this brought on tears and sort of a " raging " OCD " getting stuck " episode. I've mentioned he's a weird-OCD type, he was lying on the bed, one leg stuck up in the air, a hand stuck around his neck/head and it took countless tries to get his leg down " right " and then he could get his hand " off " his head. His loudness brought his grandma upstairs to see what was going on. She still doesn't get OCD, asked him what hurt! So, with one of my hands on his leg below his knee (I have to be touching him, yeah I know I'm enabling) he took lots of tries to get his leg down, I guess until " it felt right. " <sigh> This was like around 11 pm when it began and I just wanted him " quiet! " I kept telling him (as always) that he'd never get it " right " if he didn't quit crying and concentrate on it. That sometimes helps. Well, other than that, it was a pretty good Christmas! I did feel his OCD was " up " somewhat, but with everything " going on " with the gifts and playing, didn't get all his usual doses of his inositol; more like 2x day rather than the usual 3x. Actually, with the kids probably sleeping in these holidays while I leave for work, he'll not be getting his usual " before school " dose unless I wake him up. I'll have to think about that.... Happy Holidays!
