tonight i was watching tv during a bout of insomnia and came across " how

surgery saved my life " on discovery health. it followed 2 children ...one was a

girl named margaret torreson from new york city and a boy from sierra leone (

sp?) anyway...the doctor who did the surgery on these children ( both over 100

degree curves initially ) is named dr. boachie. i can't remember his first name.

apparently he was almost dead as a child from malnutrition in his home of ghana,

but a western doc saved him and raised him i think. anyway...he now lives in nyc

as well and is apparently one of the few " masters " in the world of spinal

surgery. he also has a group in ghana, west africa called F.O.C.O.S.........this

was a very interesting show, although i could barely stomach watching the

surgery itself.

was just curious if anyone has ever heard of this dr. boachie?
