How can I set the shipping charges for my soaps without making the

costumer wait for a quote? I want to use USPS Priority.

I had a stamp program, you'd enter the weight including box, they'd tell you

the price per priotity mail. I would plop it on one of my soaping scales

to get the weight. I've never figured out how to do it any other way.

When people send requests over the internet, I tack on a dollar per soap and

send it out that way. Just sell them for a dollar more.

I'd assume that the only way to do this would be to manually

package/weigh/calculate soaps - which will take quite a while.

You'd have to package one soap, then weigh it can calculate the cost

on that one soap in all 8 zones - (keeping this cost written down so

that when you're all done you can do up a charge to go on your

website, or to calculate this cost into your shopping cart). Then

after that one soap is done, you do two soaps - then three - then

four and so on....

There are also options you can use - you can package up to 6 (or 8

depending on size of soaps) into a Flat Rate Envelope - which will

cost $3.85 no matter which zone you're sending to......And you can

get free delivery confirmation on the www.usps.com website - which I

urge everyone to use (delivery confirmation).

And the other option which is best cost wise to your customers is to

offer parcel post mail - which will save your customers shipping

money.

You can also ask your local USPS office for a chart on zone cost &

weight. They should have one to give, or a url to give so that you

can download this yourself.

It's almost impossible to give an accurate shipping cost BEFORE your

soap/order can be packaged and weighed as size of box and amount of

packaging may vary from box to box - to amount of soap's included

etc.
