Guest guest
You do not have to subscribe to UCC, You can design your own bar code based on the UCC codes... there are plenty of bar codes programs on the net.. The retailer assigns to your bar code the price and all other details. Guest guest
I've never done barcodes. How lucky for you to have a drug store account, very nice. I was looking at the avery dennison site last week, and they had a barcode program template. The software progam I have on disk also has one. I have no idea how they work, can you ask your friend? Hello everyone, I have been asked by a customer to put barcodes on my products to sell in his drug store chain. I did a google search, and became baffled! Does anyone have any idea of how this process works, as well as any other pertinent info that they would be willing to share? All help is appreciated in advance. Thanks, Dwana in Cambridge
Guest guest
Hello- One must first become a member of the Uniform Code Council (the fee is several hundred dollars but the process is easy). A number is assigned that identifies your company and is the first segment of each of your labels. The second portion of your label identifies your product (these numbers YOU assign). The UCC membership packet explains this in greater detail and is easy to follow. You can buy a computer program that will allow you to print the labels or you can have them printed so as to meet the guidelines and be scanned. Contact the Uniform Code Council via their website and you will be on your way!
Guest guest
Dwana, You may want to check out Avery Labels. Searched within their website and 6 came up. You may want to start at this one to get a idea. http://www.avery.com/us/products/demos/idlabels/index.html -- bar coding products Hello everyone, I have been asked by a customer to put barcodes on my products to sell in his drug store chain. Guest guest
Dwana, l lost a contract with a nation wide company because I couldn't afford to pay the fees required to get one. there is a governing body called the uuc, that issues barcodes. I don't know what the fees are now, but I remember from my exprience that the least it cost was $500 per product. They'll tell you all about it on this site: https://catalog.webec.uc-council.org/application/main.cfm Hope you have better luck (and finances) than I did. bar coding products > Hello everyone, I have been asked by a customer to put barcodes on my > products to sell in his drug store chain. Guest guest
I did ask him. He said the pharmacy uses a database that only stores info from the distributors he buys from. He doesn't create any except for the drugs that are dispensed, and they alreadu have codes from the drug manufacturer. Not much help. I will look at the avery site again. I have been there numerous times, but never for a bar code, LOL. Thanks for your help, Dwana
