Guest guest
Hello, this subject may be a cross post for some but I need more information. I have been told that apricot kernel oil may be a nut oil. If anyone is up on nut allergy's could you please tell me if this would cause a reaction? Thanks. Guest guest
The apricot kernel oil is from the seed or pit of the apricot from what I understand and is not technically a nut. My youngest who is 7 has allergies to nuts and nut oils and has not had any problems with soaps and lotions I've made with this apricot kernel oil. I guess the only way to know if your allergic to any specific ingredient is to be exposed to it. If you want to try it out I would just apply it on a small area like on the back of your hand and keep benadryl on hand. When I have to do a skin patch on a client to see if they are allergic to hair dies before I color their hair I do a skin patch test on the inside fold of their arm by putting the hair colorant I'm going to use on a cotton ball and blotting it. Keeping a close eye on their skin for a reaction to the dyes. I'm sure the same technique can be used for oils and such to check for allergic reactions. son 's Lavish Lathers http://www.veronicaslavishlathers.com/store/ Owner/ operator http://www.friendswithms.com Now with Voice Chat!! Guest guest
Almonds are the kernal of a fruit quite closely related to the apricot. I am not an expert, but I would expect that if someone is allergic to almonds they would be allergic to apricot kernals. apricot kernal oil/nut allergy? > > Hello, this subject may be a cross post for some but I need more > information.
