If you sign up for the Borders Rewards program you get better coupons and "personal shopping days" which you can combine with their other running deals, I believe. If you wait for coupons Borders can be almost as good as Ross. Borders has a better selection of videos than Ross does, i.m.o. Oh, and I'm with you on the no-buy challenge. I know already I would fail, so therefore I don't even bother with it!
