Wed - T-Tapp and Yoga Now

Hi Everyone,

Well, I've been really bad this week about doing

yoga/Pilates in the evening. I intended to do it last

night, but DH was camped in front of the TV - I could

have done something in the bedroom, but I didn't feel

like it - so tonight I have plans to get some Pilates

and/or yoga in.

This morning I started off with T-Tapp Basic Plus

(approx. 15 min) as my warm-up then I did Yoga Now

Accelerated Practice. Rodney Yee and Mariel Hemingway

lead this - Rodney, obviously is the main lead, but

you do get some voice-over comments/cueing from Mariel

as well - but it isn't annoying or anything - she and

Rodney compliment each other very well in this one.

The accelerated practice is 50 min long and is

basically a longer version of the 30 min practice. It

is a bit hard to describe as it is different from

traditional yoga - you really don't do the traditional

sun salutation vinyasas in this one - rather, you do a

mini vinyasa, add in a pose like warrior, triangle,

side angle and then you do some " cardio intensifier "

type moves - arm swings, little jumps, and lunges

where you switch your feet at a moderate pace - this

part reminded me a bit of kundalini style yoga.

The workout starts in a reclined position - to both

stretch and do some yoga ab work. Then you begin the

standing part, doing the " cardio intensifier " (for

lack of a better word) moves in between some vinyasas.

The practice ends with some floor and seated

postures.

Overall it was a good one for today.

I didn't feel like doing my short cardio workout today

and will hopefully get it done tomorrow before Legs &

Back. I think I might do a walking workout to warm up

my legs before L & B. BTW, I noticed this last time I

did Legs & Back my legs weren't as sore as they had

been in the past -so I might think about switching up

the leg routine. I also am not terribly sore from

Chest, Shoulder & Triceps yesterday - although it was

hard when I did it.
