Guest guest
I see they have lemon extract or extract of lemon in them, is this also in the unflavoured? TIA Vicky
Guest guest
Thanks, Zoe, I'll ask about the trial sizes as I see that they do make them on the brainchild website, otherwise, I may take you up on your offer. The thing is, when we go little and slow, which is what I've always done - it masks the fact that he is having a reaction to the supps. The one that he was most reactive to was NAG - I had introduced it over a period of weeks, starting with about 1/3 caps building up to 2 caps a day. His decline was therefore gradual and I confused his declining behaviours with circumstances changing in our lives rather than the supps.....aaaarrrgggghhh, it's so hard sometimes! I've always agreed with the little and slow but it seems that sometimes this makes it even harder to tell when things are going badly, you know what I mean? Oh, well, I'll get it all figured out oneday (I can always live in hope). Thanks! Darla Hi DarlaBrainchild supplier is Phytoscience in Scotland tel 01506 846931They may do trial sizes. We are currently using ultra sensitive so I could syphon off some of mine and send it to you for you to have a test run with if you want?Philip couldnt tolerate many supplements to begin with. It has been a long, slow process and I have been guided by our DAN practitioner as to what to introduce and when and what to do if there is a reaction.........mainly start slow and build up to full dose, consider introducing other co-factors first, depending on what we thought his body would tolerate.Zoe
Guest guest
Hi Jenna, Yes, I think I will do that, although I do hope that he will be able to tolerate the supps someday, I'll have to check the expiration dates. And others have done that on the list, I don't think there is any problem with doing that here. Can you tell me how approx much a bottle of the vits costs? Thanks, Darla just a thought... You might want to post the supps he can't handle w/ approx how much is left in the bottle, and how much you'd like for it, on the list. You could get a couple quid back in your pocket to help fund a bottle of brainchild (i feel your pain - my bottle is almost empty!) Then you you'd be giving some one else the opportunity to try something, before they have to go out and invest a small fortune. ....as long as that is allowed on list. I 'm not certain. -Jenna PS - I know there is also an autism for sale group for such things as well.
Guest guest
Thanks Terri, will go look at the website then, have been using on oldest, you gave me unflavoured at conference, samples, been great, need to order some now, but when I looked in a big rush it wasn't clear to me what was what. I have too much going off here at the moment and with 2 kids at either end of the spectrum I get in a fuddle over who is having what, well that's my excuse anyways lol. Working out well with oldest, pleased I tried them. Thanks Vicky

Guest guest
Oh what a bummer! I guess we were kind of lucky (!!??) in that it was fairly obvious when P was having a reaction, he seems to have a really sensitive constitution.........although having said that, we can throw almost anything at him now his tolerance levels have increased. I dont know what the answer is - hopefully someone else on here will Good luck Zoe > > > > Thanks, Zoe, I'll ask about the trial sizes as I see that they do make them > on the brainchild website, otherwise, I may take you up on your offer. > > The thing is, when we go little and slow, which is what I've always done - > it masks the fact that he is having a reaction to the supps. Guest guest
Is the Supplementation (that went wrong) based upon Lab findings oris it "only" based on trieland error ??Geir Flatabø It's just trial and error - we did testing initially and we are supplementing according to those tests - for instance the flagyl and nystatin were given on the basis of the organic acid test. I knew he went downhill on the flagyl but I kept him on it anyway as it was just for 10 days. The nystatin didn't suit him either even though I kept him on it for a long time. The thing is, the change is too remarkable in him for it not to be the supplements! Darla
Guest guest
Do you think it's additives/fillers or that they're showing up something eg about methylation or sulphation? Guest guest
If you Google Brainchild nutritionals you find the place - it's in Scotland. We had no problems at all with BC but Tom is very tolerant. You're quite right to start with the ultra sensitive but BC is very good stuff. The stuff you've shelved - if it's still in date perhaps can sell to other parents here? We do periodically list stuff for sale - no reason why all your money needs to be wasted. Or you can hang onto, provided they have a long shelf life, for further down the road.
