Guest guest
The way a lot of people approach it is to do cardio on an empty stomach and wait an hour afterward to eat (starve fat) and to eat something before and immediately after weights (feed muscle). However, if your primary goal is maximum fat loss, it's ok to do every workout on an empty stomach and wait an hour. You won't disintegrate or anything. Just be sure to get in that high-quality protein and carb meal an hour after the workout. I think a lot of it is a matter of goals and individual differences. Some people feel really weak and queasy if they train hard on an empty stomach. They'll have much better workouts and see better results if they eat. Other people experience nausea or side stitches if they have food in their stomach. Do whatever seems best for your situation. If your primary goal is muscle gain, it would be appropriate to eat something before and after every workout. Betagen is good immediately after a workout - creatine, glutamine, HMB, antioxidants, and only 10 calories. > Ok, I was under the BFL impression that if not exercising first thing > in the a.m. on an empty stomach, you should try to exercise 2-3 hours > after your last meal and wait one hour post-workout to eat for max fat > burn. However, almost all studies say you should aim for a > protein/carb mix 100 cal (or less) snack RIGHT after a workout or else > your muscles deplete or something like that. > > What are your thoughts on this? Anybody know of a supplement (other > than a protein powder/shake) that can be taken with little calories > after a workout? > Thanks
