Guest guest
I'm only at this for 12 monts as well, so there are others who could probably offer better advice. For me, getting yeast and bacteria in order was key. I didn't want to start chelating until we got this under control. Prescription anti-fungals worked well, but only while he was on them. We spent all year trying to get him in shape for chelation. Never happened. In the end, I took Mandi's advice and chelated anyway. I also swiched over to Heuston enzymes HNzyme product at the same time. We also went up a gear on our herbal anti-fungals (rotate oregano, Yeast Aid, Capryllic acid, Lauricidin, OLE, GSE, Biocidin and others). Oxypowder dosing increased a bit too to ensure he was clearing out his system. Could be just co-incidence or any of the above, but since then we've started seeing some changes. His mood improved. His yeast went into remission. And we're seeing receptive language improve in his ABA programme. He's sleeping through the night (most nights) and when he does wake up during the night, he is in good form and usually settles back to sleep in ~ 10 minutes. All small improvements, but very welcome. Especialy the extra sleep. I wouldn't let a cold stop me from chelating him now, where it would have stopped me six months ago. My kid will always be sick and have problems with his health until I get the toxic metals out of him. Liam PS, Was it you that warned me about an ABA organisation called ISADD that we were working with. I've dumped them and hired new people. Guest guest
Many, many kids do not tolerate folinic, some even dmg. Folinic (in a multivitamin formula) made my son lot more autistic and lost what little eye contact he had at the time. Also did not react well to nystatin or NAC. Any of those things you listed could be a problem, but I would first try dropping the ones above. I seriously believe that were we to listen blindly and to just keep giving everything that was recommended, ds would be worse than when we started biomed. Guest guest
hi i totally agree with the folinic if youre not already doing it. my dd just helped me to separate TMG and folibic acid has made potential difference in both of the boys. are you also corn/maize free. that is anther opoid. > She had great eye contact when we first tried enzyme (Kirkman) but it > didn't stay. try the housten enzymes instead if the kirkmans are showing no difference. also have you tryed TMG instead of DMG? yoouv just started NCD so that good regards nasreen > > > > Dear all, > > > > We have been doing biomed for a year now with a DAN Dr in US, but > > mostly through phone consult. > > > > The problem is I am not sure if we are in the right track. Guest guest
Hi, Thanks for your reply and advices. I believe that doing biomed is really good for us but I found working with a DAN Dr is not as easy as I thought. I now have a new DAN Dr who are more open minded..the previous one didn't want us to use Houston enzyme! Tetty P.S Liam, good that you dumped ISAAD! They should learn to respect the client's choices and dealing with autism is not only through their way!! > > Dear all, > > We have been doing biomed for a year now with a DAN Dr in US, but > mostly through phone consult. > > The problem is I am not sure if we are in the right track. Guest guest
Tetty, Sorry this is so late. My original response seems to be lost. This is from the supplement file: " Adrenal Cortex Extract is a supplement that can help support stressed adrenals, a problem quite common in autistic children. Adrenal stress can be debilitating and will likely only worsen over time if not addressed. Some signs of poor adrenal function are " anxiety with OCD, poor task switching, sensory integration problems " (per Andy Cutler), and avoidance of other activities by engaging in things such as repetitive movie watching. One trusted brand is Nutricology Organic Adrenal Cortex Extract. " I thought it might apply to your daughter. Also, you may want to consider supporting the immune system. As I've said before, I am a big fan of Epicor. You can read about all it does here: http://www.vrp.com/art/1887.asp? c=1172675871875 & k=/epicor/index.asp & m=/includes/vrp.css & p=no & s=0 It seems to me that your daughter may have a long term sinus infection. If so, supporting the immune system might help with that. You may also have to deal with yeast and bacteria more aggressively. Something that deals with a lot at the same time like Oil of Oregano may be worth trying. My son's long term sinus infection went away with a viral protocol and OoO has antiviral properties as well. A few of your supps are ones that many kids have trouble with. Glutathione and NAC come to mind besides the others mentioned. Sometimes is is a good idea to take a supp break and start from the beginning to see what happens to your child. Guest guest
I'm sorry to jump in in here! Can someone tell me how OoO is given, how much and when is the best time? TIA emily > > > > Dear all, > > > > We have been doing biomed for a year now with a DAN Dr in US, but > > mostly through phone consult. > > > > The problem is I am not sure if we are in the right track. Guest guest
I'm not an expert in this , but I did try to give the OoO on a relatively empty stomach. I also tried to dose 3 times a day. I would start low (one drop) and build up from there. My son had signs of die off at 7 X 3 drops a day. OoO tastes awful and I would put the drops into the smallest capsule I had (cut even smaller) and then he would take it with a bit of yogurt (no chewing!). Guest guest
Hi Anita, Better late than never:-) Thank you so much, I will dig into this!
