Guest guest
I'm guessing this is the edition I have too, and I doubt a whole lot has changed. Read the entire book, but especially pay attention to the study guide and memorize the answers. Next, order the *current* study guide, memorize that one too. Also be very familiary with the standards and guidelines. KNOW those 5 questions by heart! At the live cert you review everything, but you absolutely must study. It took me a couple of months to prepare for it, but I'm a perfectionist and only missed 4 on the exam (I think you can miss 20). The practicum is the nerve wracking part! Even though I had already been teaching I was still nervous, but they are very lenient on this. You can even copy people in the weight training part of it. It's the cardio portion that's hard but I can help you with that once you're at that point. mrsmumsiebear wrote: Ok,I broke em out. I have the AFAA: Fitness Theory & Practice 4th edition, with the exercise standards and guidelines reference man., practice test and study guide. Looks like 4the editon was published in 2002 so I dont know if there is a newer version out there. Can I still use this one to take the test? Also, I found an ACE Group Fitness Instructor Manual, I forgot how I came across this one, it looks like a used college book. I can't find a publishing date but the copyright is 2000.--j
