Hello there.

I'm Kerrie Venner, and newly emerged from an inspirational workshop by

*Isabelle

Gelle*, who recommended this group to me. I live in Bournemouth and have a

day job in London as a biomedical scientist. I am also ITEC qualified in

Aromatherapy, Holistic massage, and am an accredited practitioner of Daoyin

Tao (www.daoyintao.com). I've long been interested in the science of

olfaction and the effect on the psyche, emotion and memory, and have for the

past few years been a fan of Ann Worwood's fascinating books, in

particular the Fragrant Pharmacy, and more recently The Fragrant Mind. I

made therapeutic fragrance blends following Worwood's recipes as gifts at

Christmas, which went down very well.

After Isabelle's workshop, I can now approach this with a more scientific

informed and structured approach, and record progress over a much longer

period. I'm excited by the infinite creative possibilities now open to me.

As I've become far more attuned to natural fragrances I've become frustrated

at the synthetic home fresheners and commercial fragrances, even those

supposedly 'natural', and been disappointed by Jo Malone. I've turned to

tibetan incense for home fragrancing, and pour hydrolats into the iron.

Pricey but so beautifully indulgent - I now dilute the hydrolat as Iwent

ironing mad....

So now, here I am, having found this wonderful online community. Which is

also where I discovered the art of Polymer Clay, and am now the Vice

President of the International Polymer Clay Association (www.npcg.org), and

also Metal Clay, where I am pursuing the Metal Clay Diploma at the Mid

Cornwall school of Jewellery. The ultimate goal? To create a wonderful

signature fragrance, and the silver vessel to contain it and carry with me

as an amphora pendant.

I look forward to a fragrant, creative future!
