Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Today was my steady state cardio day and I went with a Ross find - Dozois' Rockin'Body Cardio Jam (which is part of her new Breakthru Body series that also includes a circuit workout and a straight sculpting workout). This one is a 40 min cardio routine that includes warm-up and cool down. There are 6 cardio combos done - you take it from the top in each of the 6 segments, but you never do all six together. The impact is mixed and I'd say the choreography is moderate as is the intensity. I usually love 's workouts but I didn't really love this one - she does quite a few kickboxing-esque moves but they really don't fit her overall dancier style. Somehow it didn't work for me to mix her style of kickboxing with her aerobic dance style. Maybe it was my mood today or something, but I like 's Walk Your Way Slim and Dance Off the Inches workouts better. I also like her cardio routine on the Shape DVD better. I will try it again though, sometimes you are just having an off-day - you know? The DVD contains some " extras " as well -some testimonials from people who completed her breakthru series, information on accessing the nutrition plan for this series on the internet (I think the passworkd is bodybreakthru - but I'll need to check) and some personal information from on her family - in particular, her son who was diagnosed with autism at around age 2. I think the proceeds from this DVD series may be going towards autism research which is really cool. One of my friends whose daughter is one of my daughter's friends is autistic - she was diagnosed right around the same time as 's son and thankfully, due to early interventions she is doing very well. she is in a 'typical' preschool class twice a week and in a head start program 5 days per week. She has really made great strides! Afterwards I did the Pilates and Yoga sections from her Breakthru Pilates Plus DVD that she did with Tracey York. I like the PIlates routine as it is not the " classical " sequence and includes some good plank positions as well as some traditional and yoga-inspired push-ups to work the arms and core together. I haven't been very good about this push-up challenge, I keep forgetting (and agree, I need to keep a chart or something to remember!) but, I figure once I start doing P90X in a few weeks I'll have my share of push-ups! Anyway, I'm still glad I got a workout in this morning! Tomorrow is my cardio/sculpt day - not sure what I'm planning - I do have a few " virgin " circuit workouts in my pile to get to - I may go with one of them. Anyway, hope everyone has a great day! ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Be a better Globetrotter.
