Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I'm having a " sick " day at home with my DD - who is recovering from something - probably a cough/cold. She is much better than she was yesterday, so that is good. we're just having a lazy day today and I just got my workout done - I did Kathy 's Matrix Sculpt. I've only done this once or twice before and it really is a good workout. Lots of functional moves done at a pace to bring your HR up - (sort of like the FIRM's Aerobic Weight Training concept), she also throws in some pure cardio moves - which are also " functional " in that they're meant to work on your speed and agility. The main body of the workout is 30 min, then there is a 10 min ab/core section (that also includes 2 sets of push-ups, plank work, etc.) and then a 10 min stretch. I really have to commend Kathy for including a suitable stretch on this DVD. Very often instructors skimp on the stretching. There is also a 12 min " bonus " routine on this DVD - I attempted it once before - it is just more advanced versions of some of the exercises shown in the main portion of the workout. I'd love for Kathy to come up with a new Matrix workout incorporating those moves (sort of like Matrix 2) it would take me a while to be able to do it - since I struggled (as I recall) with this bonus workout the last time I tried it but it would be nice to have something beyond this workout to work towards. Anyway, I'm glad I got something in today. I plan to rest tomorrow. I was going to start P90X on Sunday, but I may put it off for a week only because I " m not getting very much sleep with DD being sick (and I'm afraid I'm going to get sick as a result!) I'll play it by ear and see how she does tonight. Last night I didn't get a good sleep in at all - we were up quite a bit with her cough. The good part about postponing my start of P90X is that my rest week will fall during Xmas week, so that isn't too bad! Take care!
