I never really understood why people get mental (for lack of a better term) with throwing out egg yolks. My friends and mother freak the heck out when I dumb egg yolks. I don't eat apple cores or chicken bones. I throw them out. I don't eat banana peels or pork fat. I throw them out. I just think of the egg yolk as inedible, then I really have no problem with throwing it out. I never really bothered to stop and calculate if it would be cheaper to buy just egg whites. The only ones we have are the ones in the little cartons with artifical coloring and preservatives and I figure I get enough of that as it is. Let us know what you find.
