> Where can I find reasonably priced egg whites?

I have always bought online from Eggology (or retail from Wild Oats,

Vons, Albertsons even) maybe a bit more, but quality and guaranteed

freshness is what I want: http://www.eggology.com/

Also they have a new microwavable size which I havent tried yet.

So how much are you paying now for eggs? If you not paying more than that I

wouldn't worry about it.

I never really understood why people get mental (for lack of a better term)

with throwing out egg yolks. My friends and mother freak the heck out when

I dumb egg yolks. I don't eat apple cores or chicken bones. I throw them

out. I don't eat banana peels or pork fat. I throw them out. I just think

of the egg yolk as inedible, then I really have no problem with throwing it

out. I never really bothered to stop and calculate if it would be cheaper

to buy just egg whites. The only ones we have are the ones in the little

cartons with artifical coloring and preservatives and I figure I get enough

of that as it is.

Let us know what you find.

Try this site out, I have never gotten these yet, I would if I ate as

much as you. They are pasterized so you can use then in shakes and

such.

Let me know what you think, if you do decide to get them.

I just buy eggs at the grocery store and remove the yolk. I can get

18 eggs for $1. I can't imagine finding that cheaper elsewhere.

Just wanted to add that for those who hate wasting the yolks and have

a dog or cat - you can hardboil the eggs (make egg salad with the

whites for yourself) and give the yolks to your pets who will love

them as a treat.

Acme, Shop Rite and Giant have $1 for 18 (or bogo on 18) sales at

least once a month in our area (NE).
