Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Today is my rest day from P90X. I must say, I'm feeling pleasantly worked out from this week's efforts. YAY! Here is my summary: Sunday - Core Synergistics Monday - Cardio X (I'll likely do Plyo or P90 Masters Cardio Intervals next week) Tuesday - Biggest Winner Cardio Kickbox (20 min), P90X Shoulders and Arms (will up my weights this week, I think), Ab Ripper X (should be called hip flexor stressor, probably won't do it again, or at least I won't do some of the moves on it again!) Wed - Kathy Step on BOSU (first two segments - 30 min) & Rainbeau Mars Pure Power Thurs - Legs & Back (actually liked the band work for the pull-ups!), Pilates Sculpt & Tone Ab Routine (30 min) Friday - Kenpo X So far, I'm not feeling taxed about adding the extra cardio in - I'm only adding it in b/c for the most part I'm pretty sedentary so I think I need the extra cardio - short bursts of it anyway. Tomorrow I'll resume again, if my back isn't too stressed out from today's Housework Max I'll do core synergistics. If it is, I'll do shoulders & arms with supplemental cardio tomorrow and CS on the Shoulders & Arms day next week. Now - on to my meandering thoughts: FIRM TransFIRMation system - I couldn't get the darn thing to work, it kept charging me for shipping. GRRR! I'm not a B & N member, I think you have to get their credit card to be a member (am I right? If not, where do I sign up! LOL!) and I don't want any more credit cards. I have more than enough and only use two main ones anyway. Oh well. I'm not going to pay $46 for it (price including shipping and tax) especially since I " m sure the shipping is so high due to the weights which I don't need anyway. I have hopes this will show up retail soon - and hopefully, w/out the weights! If not before the holidays, I'm guessing right after in time for NY Resolutions! The two add-on workouts s and Rebeckah's are at Borders for $14.95. I may pick them up since i have two Borders gift cards (yay!) Cathe's Announcement - I'm still obsessing about her planned workout series. I doubt I'll get it b/c I'm sure it is going to be more than I'm willing to pay (especially b/c I know me and there are going to be other things that come up that I want, too, like my own copy of P90X and the P90X + workouts -did I just write that?!). Cathe's workouts are so expensive - why can Amy Bento put together DVDs that contain pre-mixes, quality production, good programs, and charge only $19.95 per DVD for them? I think I'll stick with my planned venture into Kettlebells, instead. I like the idea of being able to get a good workout in in a shorter amount of time - I'm always running low on time these days. While I was reading the threads on VF about the announcement someone mentioned a book (Kassia, I think this would be up your alley!!) - New Rules of Lifting for Women - which sounds alot like what Cathe is putting together - a 6 month periodization program with nutrition/eating information. It is on sale at Amazon for around $17. I'm enjoying P90X so far b/c it does allow me to go at my own pace. I can almost see myself following a system from a " book " for awhile to allow me to progress. While it would lack the " entertainment " value of DVDs/videos, it would definately allow me to go at my own pace. Sometimes with DVDs it is hard to do that. I would still want DVDs/videos for cardio, though and yoga/Pilates b/c I wouldn't know where to begin to design that for myself. I'm thinking of pre-ordering this book on Amazon (around $17 right now) - it is due out in late December and would probably arrive at just the right time for me to begin thinking about what to do after P90X! Deep Discount Sale - I got an e-mail from them - SUPERSALE is the code, if anyone is interested. However, I think their stock is smaller - either that, or I can't find where everything is with their new website. Sadly, (or happily for my CC!) there isn't much there that tempts me. I was hoping some of the newer Amy Bento workouts would be listed - All Pump Extreme, Kickboxing Extreme - but no luck. They have her first series of workouts, which I may consider, but I was hoping for the " Extreme " ones. A few Mindys that I don't have are there -but I have a supply of Mindy virgins to get through first. There are some other things, like the new 10 Min. Solutions and Self Magazine workouts that I'd like to see - but I'm not sure I need to buy. I think I'll just sign up for netflix and borrow them to see if they're worth owning first. I'll probably end up with the 10 Min Solutions - Pilates and the Amy Bento Tubing workout, at some point, but that is about it. I'll see how the rest of my pre-holiday spending goes before I cave on this sale. I was also hoping for some more Coffey-Meyer workouts - but no luck there either, just the one I already have. The new Spreen that I want isn't available until January, so I wouldn't get the 20% off on it. I haven't yet passed up a DDD sale, but I think this may be a first. Oh well, I guess that's all of my meandering thoughts for now. Hope everyone has a great day!
