hollywood trainer 21 day circuit

hiya!today's workout started with a 45 min bike ride with chinook. this was hard to do today! the road is still deep in gravel and sand, plus it was windy. this got my heart rate up quickly and also tired chinook out relatively quickly. it wasnt a very enjoyable bike ride, but as a workout it was ok.after that i did 'circuit A' from the hollywood trainer 21 day circuit dvd. there is another workout on this disc as well. i like jeanette jenkins... she is pleasant and jokes around now and then. but, what did she say about canadians?!?! (something about a silly saying that she said she picked up in canada....hmmpff!). i liked the workout too, although it clocked in at 40 mins (incl warmup and cooldown) and not the 30 mins indicated on the box. jeanette circuited between various basic strength training exercises and basic cardio moves. absolutely no choreography in this one. the music was really good... instrumental versions of popular tunes! one was santana. the backgrounders were varied... one woman was pregnant, another was a grandma, some were fit, some were a bit chubby... a few were men. one of backgrounders is in quite a few workouts (she has braids and does beginner mods in this one). i liked how jeannette gave suggestions for poundage, indicating what the beginner mod, intermediate mod and advanced mod were using. she also told beginners to stop at 15 reps of each exercise, while the intermediate and advanced do 25 reps. she also included a few other mods for advanced people, usually involving balance challenges. one thing that i did not like, and jeannette is not alone in doing this... she would often say 'just one more set... nothing else after this' and then proceed to do a whole bunch of stuff instead of just 'one more'. overall, a good straightforward workout with a nice instructor... im looking forward to doing the second workout on the dvd, perhaps next week!:*carolyn.
