Guest guest
Today was another library workout. I did Body for Life for Women from Pamela Peeke. This DVD actually contains the entire lifestyle plan of eating, stress and workout. There are three 10 minute sections to this 30 minute workout that can be done together or separately. All of them are led by one of my favorites Ellen Barrett along with another everciser. Ellen is quite happy to share commentary with her co-exerciser. First is a simple 10 minute cardio routine made up of 10 basic moves done on each side. Nothing special here but it's a nice introduction to cardio for beginners or people who hate fancy choreography. I wish this section was longer - say 20 to 30 minutes because 10 minutes really isn't enough. Then there are 10 minute upper body and 10 lower body sections. Again, both are very basic and I upped my weights and exaggerated my movements to get more out of the workouts. Ellen does a nice job in all three segments of cueing each move and encouraging you on. She does work all of the upper body groups but not really long enough. The lower body didn't use weights (I did) and incorporated many Pilates moves which was nice, but again, not enough moves to make me feel worked out. I did extra leg and ab work when I was done with this workout. This workout was too easy for me, but I think it's a great introduction to exercise for the beginner or those who really never have much time. On the work front my keyer was much nicer yesterday. Maybe she finally got her "Come to Jesus" moment and decided to get with the program rather than look for problems in her co-worker's habits. Maybe the thought of poverty is motivating her along. She truly cannot afford to lose her job. She makes very good money for her skill and job due to the time she has been with the hospital (over $25 an hour) and I think she knows she would never get that kind of money somewhere else with her education and skill set. I hope this is a sign of the future! Kathy
