This tiny packet is awesome.....so I'll be deciding on my best avenue to get

every bit of the good out of it.  Lucked out on this. Totally lucked out.  I

have other sandalwood powders but man, they sure are sad compared to this.

I'll be hitting Eden Botanicals soon and ready to be done......or are we ever

done? I'm thinking those of you with a 100+ are prove that the answer is no.

I also came by orris root and that is tinturing so we'll see....it will be a

while.

I tried tincturing orris root powder (from Iris germanica not Iris pallida) and

it was a total bust! If yours works out well pls share your technique with us.

Thanx, Simone

Hi Simone....

A few years back I went into the local co-op and got some orris powder

from the herb section...The dispenser did not state which type it was....

I tinctured it in 95% Ethanol (190 Proof Everclear) for about three-four

weeks.....Only did one charge....The tincture still has an ethanol

smell, but if you apply it to skin, as soon as the alky evaporates,

there's a gentle powdery odor remaining...

I had enough to fill 1/2 of a 2oz bottle...and then covered it and

filled the bottle with alky....(this is from memory)....shook it up

periodically....

I imagine if I had done several recharges, it would be stronger...

That was during my great early tincturing experiments...

Is good thing I'm a bachelor because there were bottles in process on

almost every horizontal surface in the flat....<G>.....!

Great conversation pieces, though.....

Hope that helps...

If this works out I will share and I kept enough to continue to charge. Same

with the sandalwood tho as strong as it is I don't think it will take quite as

long......and I send some things I didn't need to a friend , in return i got

violet ! a tiny bottle and some marjoram I think.....this is what I love about

people who are passionate about what they do or have a goal in mind , its a big

circle and we all help each other.  Wish the world would find that practice in a

honorable way.

I'll be sharing soon regarding the mysore, I hope it was from a fallen tree..

its been a while since I have had true mysore so I was surprised. its

distinctive .  No fo/eo blend to date has remotely come close to the real

thing.  I also would not just pay anything for what I wanted knowing something

came from an endangered species.....can't do it.

I did get some samples of a lovely amber resin that is natural in its make up so

that was a bonus. I never run out, thats my girl in that smell =)

At some point, I will have to use lesser quality eo's and resins to release what

I'm formulating but the original once finished will be auctioned off. It has

about three items to be added and then its finished. 100% natural and ballparked

at about 89 % organic when you break it down, some things were 90% some 76

etc.....

straight, as its, lovely, but will need to be cut of course.

if this works out, the mysore and the orris, I'll let you all know may need

someone who's done this for years to render an opinion on the out come should

any one wish to participate. i will of of course pay for postage and I'm a big

girl, I can take critique.

As for the origin? I don't know. How that came to me? Total fluke. I know I

sound secretive but I'm sort of seeing how this bears out with what I have that

I know to be real as its many years old.....this person is a buyer and travels

and buys these things, I was told by a lady who practices old ways who to go to

and I just lucked into it. It is strong, not sure if it supposed to be but I do

recall my daughter's tibetan beads one of the monks gave her when she was at

college....same distinct smell. I do know there are variaties and some have

specific sacred properties . The woman who told me who to contact would not have

had me do so if this was unethical .

Talk about a dream job huh? She did that for a while so she still knows some

people. I'm not out a bundle , its good, regardless of true mysore but I've not

smelled any like this in many years.  Oddly she just popped back into my life ,

she knew my kids when they were little and knew about this perfume , was in

attendance at my daughter's funeral and just thought of me.....she is genuine at

heart. I'll not dishonor her by confirming via documentation .

Either way, I do have a superior product as I have a lot of lesser quality .. I

was just taken aback once I smelled it....I've got to trust the old schnoz.

We'll see.
