Guest guest
I read on a forum in bodybuilding.com that you shouldn't have any fat following a workout b/c it inhibits protein absorption. Is this true? I've been drizzling my UDO's oil over my pancake that I eat after working out. It's really good, b/c otherwise the pancake is a little dry. Just wondering if I shouldn't be doing this or if it really doesn't matter and I'm overanalyzing things like usual! :-) --------------------------------- New Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Ideally, you want quick-acting protein and high-glycemic carbs post-workout. It's not the best time to have fat, but it won't have much of an impact unless that's also when you're taking your creatine. You don't want a big serving of fat within an hour of the creatine. A big bodybuilder would want something like whey protein isolate and white bread or grape juice immediately after a workout. The massive insulin spike pushes the protein (and creatine) into the muscles quickly. Fat would blunt the insulin response and slow things down. If you're not having creatine post-workout, having fat in the meal doesn't matter one way or the other. > I read on a forum in bodybuilding.com that you shouldn't have any fat following a workout b/c it inhibits protein absorption.
