Guest guest
There's also a nice article on vetiver here: http://ayalasmellyb log.blogspot. com/2007/ 02/decoding- obscure-notes- part-vii- vetiver.html I read that article. I actually read it again, but I've read it before. Wow, that root system! I got a sample of nagarmotha/cyperus and the first thing I thought of the smell was " vetiver " . And hot damn, dont you know it is related to vetiver! I would describe cyperus as more smooth and cool, and lighter compared to vetiver, but I found them very similar. I think the cyperus would make a wonderful woody perfume ingredient. I was fooling around with some essences, wondering what would make a great woody scent and I mixed sandalwood, vetiver, atlas cedar, amyris, cobaiba balsam, and pine needle. I loved it! I kind of ruined it a bit(it was only on a scent strip) when I added ho wood. I dont think that really took it in a direction that I liked. But I think I might substitute cyperus for the vetiver when I actually make an actual blend. Adding some mandarin and/or bergamot might be nice too.
