Guest guest
I met up with a girlfriend I haven't seen for a few months. When she lived nearby, we used to work out together, diet together, etc. Now she moved, joined Craig and lost 30 llbs. She looks AWESOME. While I am very proud of losing the first 6 lbs, the last 10 are not budging. I realize it's b/c of me - my free days turn into free weekends and I skip workouts too often. I am trying and making baby steps towards making my life more healthy - that is my personal goal, and I do believe that I am much more healthy than I was just a short time ago. Anyway, we were chatting and we're going to see each other again over July 4th. She suggested we go shopping for new jeans b/c we both need them. But I said I didn't want to buy new jeans till I lost the weight. She said, well, you have over 6 weeks to do it, DO IT. Is it dumb motivation to want to (1) look as good as my friend and (2) buy new jeans that I REALLY, REALLY want? Do you think that will help me push myself to lose these last 10 lbs? Or do I need different non-material goals? I did originally have the goal of being more healthy and each week I set goals for myself (eat clean x number of days, workout x number of days - i base it on my calendar and try to be realistic so i feel like i am accomplishing something).
