why patchouli is becoming stinky after adultered?

I read somebody's post here that she got patchouli from indonesia that

smell's like barnyard. Well people i think it was the seller's mistake

of storing it. We all know that all essential oils had their own

volatility point. In this case patchouli had quite high volatility.

The main content of patchouli is patchouli alcohol. This alcohol is

getting lesser and lesser when adultered so it will effect the quality

of the oil. People think adultered oil is always good. But not

patchouli, the pacthouli is getting darker in color but lesser in

quality. But it depend on storage ways that use by the traders and

distiller.
