Guest guest
I think I'm going to follow your lead! I had family in town last weekend and when they were all drinking and having snacks and stuff I resisted (not difficult for me-- my desire for the result is so much stronger!) Of course they ask " what diet are you on? " It's hard to make people understand that IT'S NOT A DIET! But when I tried to explain it to them I could tell that they were thinking that it's " just another diet fad " . I like your explanation: I have changed my lifestyle to a healthier- fitter lifestyle where I make better choices that promote my wellness of body, mind, and spirit Diane > > I have decided to tell anyone who asks, > " I am on the BFL fitness program " . > > I think I was making a mistake in the past talking about the diet... > We all know it is so much more than that, and I want to be clear with > others. > I have changed my lifestyle to a healthier-fitter lifestyle where I > make better choices that promote my wellness of body, mind, and spirit > > Just had one of those " Ah, Ha " moments and wanted to share > M. >
Guest guest
I was at the grocery store 2 days ago and the clerk went 'what diet are you on?'.... I was slightly offended at first, but she was about my age and size so I knew she wasn't saying it to be rude.. Anyway, I found myself not wanting to words " Body For Life " to come out of my mouth... Basically because I don't want her to think it's a 'diet' or just some fad thing I'm doing for a few weeks... I just said, 'Um... it's kind of a bodybuilders diet, I just eat a portion of carbs and a portion of protien a 5-6 times a day and throw in some veggies.. It's good because I'm NEVER hungry and I'm lifting weights so I need the protien " ... She then was like 'yeah I just got the Sonoma diet book but I haven't read it yet " ... At that point I probably could have admitted it was BFL but eh... I tell people I know that I'm doing BFL, because they are starting to notice mucles.. The 10 pounds I lost before was just eating healthier and fewer calories, so I always admit that, but people are starting to notice my muscles so I wanna give BFL it's props for the FITNESS part of it... Calling it what it is.... >I have decided to tell anyone who asks, > " I am on the BFL fitness program " . > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
I must admit that I do the same thing. People ask me a lot what program I am doing. If its someone I know well, ill say body for life. Most of the time its one of my employees and Ill just say " its a body builders diet and exercise program " and leave it at that. If they inquire again I would explain more about BFL. Guest guest
that's what I've done as well. I simply tell people I've made a lifestyle change. When they ask for details, I'll say: Body for Life. In the beginning I was walking advertisement for BFL, but I've learned to use discretion when sharing my goals and dreams with people. It gets very old listening to pessimistic and/or jealous people all the time. Guest guest
I hear you, Kiki. I think I'll just refer them to the book. The sincere will put out the effort to get it and then, Bill speaks for himself to their own heart when they're ready. TM > > that's what I've done as well. Guest guest
Yes, but it¹s more than a body builder diet and exercise program. Most of the gals here would have never started if they were told it was a bodybuilder program. Bodybuilders are freaks of nature don¹t you know. That¹s why I always give BFL it¹s props. I say ³I do Body for Life. It¹s six small meals every day. You have to find your way to the gym six times a week but you get a day off of everything once a week to do what you want.² Then I usually launch and say that all of the programs have the ability to work, but all of the programs also advocate a trip to the gym or some sort of workout and unless you¹re willing to do the hardest exercise there is, which is the one where you remove your ass from the couch, nothing will work. I am lucky to live in a part of California where more people than average take care of themselves. I am also lucky in that I work with a triathlete (46yo and training for her 2nd Ironman) and another gal who is the fiancé of one of the better trainers at a big gym here in town. If I get out to her office and don¹t have the right food, she¹ll go out to the cooler in her car and bring me cottage cheese and fruit, I kid you not! I keep Myoplex lite bars in my credenza at work and one of the sales reps is always raiding my stash. She always apologizes, but I know she has 5 kids and is running her butt off 24/7. She hits the gym every day and usually raids me because she hasn¹t had a chance to get something to eat so I figure I¹m helping somehow. It¹s great working with women who want to go eat clean all of the time. > I must admit that I do the same thing. People ask me a lot what program I am > doing. Guest guest
Dr. Val, What a cool post. I need to copy, memorize, and practice your " response " . It was fun to hear all the details of your day. How wonderful when women support each other toward healthy goals! We can all take a lesson in sharing. When the diabetics and the fitness/bodybuilders drop their " walls " , they will understand how much they have in common. We all strive toward 6 small meals (healthy fats, low glycemic carbs, and veggies) a day balanced with exercise... BFL can help so many folks... Guest guest
Hey TM, that's it!! If someone isn't mentally ready, nothing will persuade them. > > > > that's what I've done as well. Guest guest
Val this is very true. If you mention anything having to do with weights to most women, they immediately think it will make them look masculine. If they only do, that's where real curves are found. --- In , " Dr. Val " wrote: > > Yes, but it¹s more than a body builder diet and exercise program. Guest guest
The women in Bill ' movie, " Body of Work " , said the same thing...that was filmed in 1993. Let's get the truth out to our families and communities, Ladies. I hope all of you have a copy of that movie. It's about the first challenge Bill organized. There are a couple of copies available on ebay this morning. We got ours from EAS years ago...does anyone know if they are still available? M. > > Val this is very true.
