Guest guest
But I will probably be a little more toned than like let's say, 3 years ago when I wasn't working out AT ALL and lost a bunch of weight and weighed 145.. This time around I'll have a foundation of muscles so hopefully I will be happier with how I look and have a good base to go from... Which is one thing why I think working out while losing weight is so important, it helps change the shape of your body instead of just making a smaller copy of yourself KRISTIN: Argh!!! >I don't think it's selfish (to expect to hit 145 and be toned) > I do think it's unrealistic and naive > But you realize that too > n > > At 11:00 PM 4/29/2006, you wrote: >>Is it selfish to want to just hit 145 and be toned? Guest guest
I think I missed something here, n why would it be unrealistic and naive to want to be toned at 145? Guest guest
I think what she MIGHT have meant was that I was talking about how I want to lose 20 pounds of FAT. And she was saying that if that is just GONE that doesn't mean I'm going to be toned automatically... I mean, I am following BFL and i'm getting toned, I just have this layer of fat so I am still kind of a little confused... Because... I personally expect that if I continue to follow this plan, when I am 145 (I have a pretty big frame, my fingers don't touch around my wrist) I WILL be toned. Guest guest
OH, and from previous experience, 145lbs, WITHOUT MUSCLES, is where, ok I don't want this to sound stuck up, but it's when I feel like I start to look 'hot'... if that makes sense... So if I had muscles... Guest guest
Hmm, I think that is pretty individual. People are built differently, some of us are delicate, others are more " big boned " . You can test this with the method mentioned earlier, wrapping your thumb and index finger around your wrist. Mine barely touch. I'm 5'5 " and thought I looked very good at 145. The 26% you are claiming right now might not be accurate either. Contrary to what we read, I think those body fat measurements are a complete crap shoot. I've heard them compared with Dexa, the " gold standard " , and the calipers, tanita, etc. are always way off. What I'm trying to say is, even if you really are 26% now, 20 pounds from now I suspect you will look pretty darn good, especially if you are doing the BFL workouts. You will likely lose some fat and gain some muscle. At my height, last time I dieted too heavily, I lost my period right around 140 or so. Guest guest
Absolutely you will be more toned than you were 3 years ago. Here's how I'm seeing it, for me. From a bodyfat % perspective, I'm within 10-15 pounds of where I want to be, since I want to be at about 20% bodyfat. However, I know that I won't be 'finished' when I've removed that weight. I will still have work to do. On the other hand, I know that I'm in much condition than I was when I was 50 pounds heavier. n At 12:30 PM 4/30/2006, you wrote: >But I will probably be a little more toned than like let's say, 3 years ago >when I wasn't working out AT ALL and lost a bunch of weight and weighed >145.. Guest guest
Absolutely - I think will be looking GREAT at 145. But I don't think she'll be done with weights and working out. n At 10:30 AM 4/30/2006, you wrote: >What I'm trying to say is, even if you really are 26% now, 20 pounds from >now I suspect you will look pretty darn good, especially if you are doing >the BFL workouts. Guest guest
I am totally with you, . We can get there together!!!!!!!!!!! I was in the 130-140 range for the first 10 years of my marriage. I loved it, but would have enjoyed more muscle definition. In those days, I wasn't informed or motivated enough to put in the work.... Years of back pain and 2 children later, I have made it from 200 down to 155. I am DOING the WORK right now to reach MY goals. I am keeping my focus clear. Be Well and Strong, M. > I will probably be a little more toned than like let's say, 3 years >ago when I wasn't working out AT ALL and lost a bunch of weight and >weighed 145.. Guest guest
, You go girl! lol I'm 5'4 " and aiming for 145 lbs as my first goal. I'm 158 lbs, medium frame and 32% body fat . If you are at 26% body fat at 5'4 " you should be looking dang good at 145 lbs. I know I start to look ok at 145 lbs and even better at 132 lbs and that was without muscles. a
