Guest guest
Most anorexics and athletes don't get their period, Tara. Does you doctor consider you an anorexic? Or, is your doctor concerned about your weight? Or, does your doctor know what you really weigh? Have you had a body scan? How are your teeth? What is your skin like? How are your extremities? I apologize for all of the questions, but you have me concerned. Tara Winnett wrote: I have gone to the Dr. concerning the lack of periods, and that is why she put me on birth control. The periods still have not come though unfortunately. I have kind of broached the subject of sex drive with her, but she didn't seem concerned b/c I had never had sex. It worries me and my future husband though! --------------------------------- New Messenger with Voice. Call regular phones from your PC and save big. Guest guest
My general Dr. is concerned about my weight, as is the gyno. She says I won't be able to have a kid unless I get some more fat on my body. My skin is very dry and I'm FREEZING all of the time. Today, for example, it's around 65-70 and I have on 2 sweatshirts. My toes and fingers get white and numb all of the time. My teeth are ok though I think ORourke wrote: Most anorexics and athletes don't get their period, Tara. Guest guest
Getting pregnant is one issue. Being able to deliver a healthy baby is the real issue. Tara, if you are serious about getting married and having children, you need to be serious about your health. Personally, I think you should switch doctors. If you are truly 5'7 " ; 116 lbs; very dry skin; always freezing; exercising to extremes; eating 1800 cals; etc, you need to be seeing a doctor that specializes in eating disorders. I'm not trying to scare you BUT you need help. I know. I've been there. I have heart disease as a result of what I have done to myself. AND that is just the tip of the iceburg!!!!!! PLS get help. You have your whole life ahead of you. If you don't, you will end up like me if not worse. I'm being completely honest with you. . Guest guest
Where do you live, Tara? What kind of antidepressents are you on? And how many mgs? Doing Yoga or Pilates is terrific for you. You will find that most therapists are screwed up and/or driven to their specialty due to their personal experience. That shouldn't be a surprise to you. Doctors are the same way. Guest guest
I live in Ohio. I stopped taking the antidepressents. I was on Lexapro. A fairly low dosage I believe. I didn't like the thought of being on them. I'm not a yoga person. I don't know why. It kind of bores me. I'm more into high intensity stuff and lifting. Guest guest
Hi Tara, It generally takes 3-4 weeks for an antidepressant to have some impact. Did you give it that much time? If not, has your doctor discussed your cardio routine? Have you tried Pilates? I saw a big change in my body -- leaner and longer. . Tara Winnett wrote: I live in Ohio. Guest guest
I'm sorry. I never meant for it to take up this much space or time or to offend anybody. I'll stop asking these questions and keep things to myself. I'm very sorry that I offended you. It was never my intention. Thank you everyone for your help and support, but I will no longer be public about my problems. dantegsd wrote: I think this kind of advice should go off-list. Just my humblebumble opinion.
