Guest guest
That depends on how sick you are. The way I visualize it is that your body can only take so much of these toxins, and then it starts saying - I have had enough - in no uncertain terms.. When you reach that point, you need to listen to it.. Most of us here have gotten to that point and now we get very sick even when exposed to low levels of mold that wouldn't sicken other people.. (YET) I think that this lasts for the rest of your life and its a natural function of your immune system which gears up immediately to fight HARD when it senses these poisons that have, in the past, almost overwhelmed it. This doesn't seem like such a complicated thing but as there is politics involved.. (decontaminating moldy buildings can be very expensive) a lot of people have a vested interest in poo-pooing the very real health issues because they simply don't want to deal with it... For example, all around the country, cities and 'older' suburbs have first been looted and then abandoned by the people and businesses that built them and at the same time, they have lost the tax base they need to do these repairs, while at the same time they often have crushing pension debts.. (this is a slash and burn style economics, isn't it?) They have been occupied by formerly poor people fleeing the cities, in hopes of better schools, less crime, etc. but those problems have followed them because the jobs have also departed.. They can't afford to tear down and rebuild their schools.. but that is what they (well, really WE ALL) have to do.. Clearly, we need a different way of taxing that takes these issues into account.. don't you think?

Guest guest
Is it AFTER you upped the a/c that you notice eyes burning? If so, you may have problem that I am having, when air is cooler downstairs than attic, attic air comes down into living quarters. The more the difference, the more exchange of air from attic, assuming there is an attic there that could cause trouble. This is my first thought to what you said. Attic air may be bad. I was feeling better but then started to feel sick again when summer heated up and humidity kicked in. --- shybasset <shybasset@...> wrote: > between THAT and mold spore injestion? Guest guest
I don't think there is a difference, inhalation, ingestion, absorption through skin, all can cause mycotoxicosis. --- shybasset <shybasset@...> wrote: > between THAT and mold spore injestion? Guest guest
This is problem I had this summer. Basement was cleaned up a couple of years ago. My final improvement I thought was when I put a fresh air intake into house. I felt soooo much better within a day. Even pet was hoping around noticeably, so I felt I was over the hump with my house, then summer hit and boom, I was back on the sofa feeling sick. I talked to the indoor air quality people on other board and discovered that in wintertime, heat escapes through ceiling and goes into attic so heat flow is up and out top of house. However in summer air flow reverses, and heat flows downward into house. I thought heat always went up but evidentally it has something to do with air pressure. When you cool air, it becomes less dense or smaller in size and so make up air comes from attic. The air up there is expanding and absorbing moisture and is heavier so wants to flow downward, so I was getting attic air down into house. I knew attic air was not good but I didn't think it would bother me down in house, so now I have to get attic cleaned up too. They also said to have floor of attic sealed so air from attic does not mix with the house air, so going to do that. Think of things getting smaller when cold or expanding when hot and you can picture it. Air shrinking downstairs and air heating up in attic getting larger and heavier so heavier air comes down into house. Someone said that attic air comes down into home in 'air conditioning' season. Did you have air in attic checked? IDEAL thing would be to have a strong whole house dehumidifier and just to keep dry in summer and not to cool much. Perhaps using fans to move air around to cool, rather than air conditioning. I really think air conditioning causes more trouble than it is worth. > > i did not know that ac sucked in attic air. i had the fan speed lowered today on main unit/
Guest guest
Hi..iris here ( & Tlee) Were many questions, so I'll just answer them here, as per my own experiences. I was diagnosed with both invasive aspergillosis, stachybotyotoxicosis and advanced stages of Trichothcene poisoning in late jan. 2006. Lived in the toxic home from june 2003 till march 2005. Unknowingly took the toxins into next home. recently (june 30th) had to vacate the 2nd home..lost most all possessions, excpet our music studio and computers wheich are in storage. My blood pressure has been low a long time. At night I'd wake up and check it..sometimes 50 over 30. 80 over 40 is " normal " for me. The BURNING eyes..I have photos of how the 1st home burned my eyes, skin, face. Actually it burned lungs, stomach, gi tract. the re-exposre (when forced to vacte 2nd home) completely burned me all over again. set me backwards. I was outdoors, with gloves and mask..but the T-2 toxins and dry spores were on everything, and an increased sensitivity made it very hard. Now the mcs and sensitivity to molds and mycotoxins make life very difficult. Looking for new home..but cannot even enter myslef. mold or chemicals (new paints, persticides, air fresheners and other things are totally debilitating. Leaving it behind..that is what anyone needs to do. If you are not 100% sure the itmes are clean from toxins..Please do NOT take them with you..they will come back to haunt you. Dr. Vojdani documented my case for to have both stachy 7 aspergillos show up in your blood..is very rare. The biopsy confirmed the t-2 poisoning. I did my first tv interview in health segment last week KC..hope it will help many of us..I shared the sickbuilding site on the air. Doing another segment soon, at the toxic home or in front of. Oh, also had the high levels of trichothecene show up in the insulation of toxic home. It showed a highly toxic over 621ppb.. Gotta go..had more, but have no home, and they want the phone. Love you all..iris & Tlee Also Tlee got the same rare test results as I did last month. that pretty much proves it di happen. later. iris www.centurydemos.com centurydemos@... > > between THAT and mold spore injestion? Guest guest
hi--You are in my prayers. This brought me to tears because I am in the same situation. MCS is worse. I hope you find a home. I am unable to leave mine and spouse will not look. May God bless you. Guest guest
my breathing problems are so bad i can not tolerate not operating the system. i had a new cedar roof put on here 2 years ago and that is some of the problem. barb1283 <barb1283@...> wrote: This is problem I had this summer. Guest guest
Leigh, does the cedar bother you or do you think it is moldy? Can you afford to put in a powerful whole house dehumidifier like the Sante Fe? A couple thousand dollars probably by the time it is installed. Fletch may have better estimate unless he did work himself. That would keep your house very dry and you wouldn't need the a/c as much. You can hook a fresh air intake into them and it will dehumidify the incoming fresh air. This problem can break you financially as well as physically, right? --- Leigh McCall-Alton <mccallalton@...> wrote: > my breathing problems are so bad i can not > tolerate not operating the system. i had a new > cedar roof put on here 2 years ago and that is > some of the problem. >
Guest guest
i am blowing this cedar stachy hole which does not test stachy and buying a house on 2 acres. i will figure out what to do to my next one when i get there.///cedar gives off terpines, flame retardant, pesticides and fungicides. house smells like pine sol. as the roof ages, it will mold. so i have been poisoned by stachy and cedar. i have a door open to the outside now and i am thrilled to not be freezing to death with ac to keep down mold. i am busting out soon and not looking back. i feel a modicum of energy just with a bit of fresh air. and the humidity is less than when ac is on full tilt. next house--commercial units with fresh air intake and dehumidifier on the line. about half dead from living here, have to take whats left of me and get happy back. bbw <barb1283@...> wrote: Leigh, does the cedar bother you or do you think it is moldy?
