Dr. Shoemaker uses Actos, a diabetes drug to control MCS, especially

when it first starts. You can order a copy of Mold Warriors to read

up on it.

Also, you may also want to start a candida diet now, since that can

also affect your hypersensitivity. Do a search on candida diet and

there are several books available as well. But this is something you

can start today! I wish I had started it while waiting for all of

the blood tests to come back months ago...I would probably be in much

better shape now.

Would you be willing to live like a vagabond, if it gave you control

over your symptoms?

Yes, well, I need a house to live in, its so cold here in Norway. I

try a new flat every third month, but they all seem to give me

problems that disappear each time I go outside in fresh air, thus it

has to be the indoor climate thats the problem.

My grandmother was from Norway.

I figure that's how I must have got " the mold gene " .

Her name was Marka Myklebust from " Molde " , Norway.

I described that same type of problem to Dr Cheney at the beginning

of the CFS epidemic.

Well, except the problems certainly didn't disappear, but they were

significantly less. Definitely a clue worth paying attention to.

So I installed a heater in my camper and sat outside as much as

possible.

My house was directly behind Dr Cheney's office.

I used to sit in my camper while it was snowing and wonder " Why won't

he talk to me about mold? "

But Dr Cheney and Dr were convinced that we were just hyper

reactive due to the " Yuppie Flu " and that mold was just another

irritant among many with no special significance.

I sure am glad I had that camper.

It does help control blood sugar, but he uses it " off label " to

control inflammation. So it works well to control the cytokine

nuclear receptor activity and can lower levels of leptin, MMP9, and

PAI-1.

Before you go SCREWING around with your endocrine system...get a work up

by a ENVIRONMENTAL DR....

http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic2/pioglit_ad.htm

Taking a diabetic drug which will EFFECT your pan reas abilkty dolwn the

road makes no sense at all. YOur system is already screwed up from

chemicals so now you want to screw up another organ?

If you dont have candidas doing that diet is not going to benefit you.

Try a STANDARD rotation diet ..whereby you DON'T eat the same food unless

its 4 days later. Also, a VERY simple and TESTED test is when you eat

something take your pulse if it INCREASES you are allergic to it.

Research before you INJEST more chemcials into an apparently over taxed

body. Your pancreas is not one of the primary detox organs. Tryto

support your liver and immune sytem.

DRUGS ARE NOT THE ANSWER!

I hear you.

I've been to many doctors, including so called environmental doctors,

infectious disease specialists, etc, and NONE of them knew a bio

toxic illness from a hole in the ground.

I'm not saying that Actos is the answer, only that Dr. Shoemaker does

use it for MCS. He also typically only uses his treatments short

term, for a two week period and then it is stopped. (The exception

being cholestyramine).

I'm all for naturopathic methods, especially lately, when my MCS

started and is progressing in the wrong direction. I'm starting with

treating a yeast overgrowth situation through diet and supplements,

since Dr. Shoemaker didn't even test for it and I know my GI track

has been screwed up for years. It's also a major part of the immune

system, so getting it in order is definitely a major piece of the

puzzle.
