Guest guest
Hi All, I received this email today. This is blatantly an ad for a particular brand of probiotics. But, its a darn good ad. Am considering buying these. Does anyone have any experience with Rebalanced Health Probiotic Plus.â„¢? From the email of Dr. Mercola: If you have been reading my newsletter for even a short while, you likely know I am NOT an advocate of most nutritional supplements. In my clinic for the past three decades I have encouraged my patients to greatly minimize their use of supplements that they were self-administering and switch more to far more effective food-based nutrition. Yes, there are certain supplements that are worthwhile to some people who have specific health challenges or deficiencies, BUT there are only two supplements I urge virtually everyone to take. One is Antartic Pure Krill Oil, which provides you the highest levels of omega-3 with DHA and EPA fats that most people are lacking. The other is a high-quality probiotic, which essentially translates to " good bacteria " -- and which almost everyone is so dangerously deficient in that it is easily one of the leading causes of severely weakened immune systems ... and therefore disease. This is crucial for you to know, and I cannot make it any clearer than this: Good health begins in your gut, where there is supposed to be trillions of good bacteria to help build and protect your health. But virtually everyone -- due to contemporary lifestyles including a history of processed foods, processed supplements, antibiotics and other drugs, improper sleep, and much more -- have wiped away many of these good bacteria, leaving them with dangerously depleted defenses against disease. For most people, it really is like they should have an army inside their gut defending against bad bacteria, viruses, and other invaders, BUT they've killed off most of their troops leaving only a meager few soldiers to do the work off an entire army! You can of course guess the solution -- you need to replenish the " army " of good bacteria in your gut, and keep it replenished. My issue, though, was that I couldn't find a probiotic that I was willing to give my highest recommendation to. Yes, there were a few good ones out there, but none were exceptional enough for me to rave about and strongly urge you to use ... till now. Finally there is a probiotic -- with a highly effective formula that my team of practitioners and I actually contributed our years of knowledge to -- that I can recommend with the utmost confidence (that I rave about to patients and other medical practitioners, in fact) and offer to you. I am so convinced your health can benefit tremendously from this high-quality probiotic that I am providing it at a special introductory offer you will read about below ... Probiotics are Crucial to Your Immune System & Your Good Health That probiotic the comes with my top recommendation and that I am providing a special introductory offer to you here on is called Rebalanced Health Probiotic Plus.â„¢ But before I tell you why I now recommend this particular probiotic far more than any others out there, it is important to delve just a little deeper into why a high-quality probiotic is SO essential to your immune system and general health: Probiotics are health-enhancing bacteria that replenish the microflora in your intestinal track, helping your body to digest and absorb food, as well as fight off many different illnesses and disease. While it is only starting to receive its due attention by Western medical professionals, the health benefits of probiotics have been known for at least 100 years. Studies have shown that probiotics are effective for the control of: * Inflammatory bowel disease * Vaginal yeast infections * Food and skin allergies in children * Premature labor in pregnant women * Recurrent ear and bladder infections * Chronic diarrhea ... and more! Of course, as I mentioned, they are essential to protect your immune system overall. If you are successfully able to change your diet so you are truly eating properly day in and day out, the need for probiotics decreases as it is somewhat similar to planting a garden. If you have plenty of healthy plants there is no room for the weeds to grow. However, if you do indulge in sugar or processed grains, become sick or take antibiotics, then it is wise to continue routinely taking a healthy, high-quality probiotic like Rebalanced Health Probiotics Plus. If you are still wondering why I feel so strongly about probiotics then please consider this -- some scientists estimate from 6 to 60 trillion actual bacteria may exist in your gut -- that's 3 to 4 pounds of bacteria -- with more than 400 different kinds of bacteria living in your gastro-intestinal tract. In light of this fact, it's certainly not a stretch to attribute an abundance of bad bacteria in your gut to the reason why you may be feeling ill. Some experts even believe this may be one of the main physical reasons why people come down with many chronic illnesses in the first place! Now consider one more staggering fact: the typical American consumes as many 175 pounds of sugar per year! When you make poor food choices that include sugars, grains, artificial sweeteners and other chemical toxins -- not to mention consuming processed supplements and drugs like antibiotics in your life -- you feed the " bad " bacteria, which are more likely to cause disease, rather than promoting the " good " bacteria that help protect you from disease. Why You Must Be EXTREMELY Careful When Choosing a Probiotic I wish choosing an effective probiotic formula was as simple as making a trip to your local health food store. Unfortunately, not every product that claims to be a " probiotic " actually contains the number of bacteria (or even the type of bacteria) associated with this claim. One Belgian study1 found that one-third of probiotic products tested, including the widely trusted and popular acidophilus, did not provide any of the promised benefits! For this reason, my team and I have left no stone unturned in our efforts to find you the absolute best probiotic formula available today. (We have even made recommendations to them over time to make it a truly exceptional product!) Rebalanced Health Probiotic Plusâ„¢ is a natural therapeutic whole food probiotic blend of six strains of health enhancing bacteria cultured in fresh goat's milk. Most importantly, the microorganisms in Probiotic Plus remain viable in your stomach en route to the intestinal tract, to optimize digestion and boost your immune system. But the advantages of this probiotic don't end there. Probiotic Plus' exclusive formula also features: * Over 26 BILLION beneficial microorganisms per serving, billions more than other probiotic products out there * The first probiotic " friendly bacteria " fermented in fresh goat-milk * Culture probiotic strains for added stability and viability * A substrate with naturally occurring minerals, proteins and " live enzymes " * Six strains of probiotics * Is a natural whole food probiotic Total health begins in your gut, so if your GI tract is not in optimal health, then your overall health will be compromised. When it comes to your health, the proactive approach is always the way to go. Probiotic Plus is a simple low-cost and highly effective way to ensure your health! Is Your Diet Less Than Perfect? Then You Need Probiotic Plus! Chronic and degenerative diseases, many of which haven't been heard before are increasing at alarming rates in America, and we'd be foolish not to question the most obvious reason for this -- our diets. Your GI tract ideally contains 85% good bacteria and just 15% bad bacteria. Unfortunately, most of us in the western world have eaten foods and taken supplements and drugs that cause this ratio to actually reverse! If Americans were eating truly healthy diets it would generally be possible to maintain a healthy bacterial balance in the gut without the use of probiotics. However, as I mentioned above, most diets are so dependent on sugars and grains that nearly everyone can benefit from probiotics. Here is just a partial list of symptoms that can often result from an imbalance of bacteria in the intestinal tract: * Gas, Bloating and Indigestion * IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) * Diarrhea and/or Constipation * Skin problems such as Acne, Eczema & Psoriasis * Bad Breath and Body Odor * Delayed development in children * Candida Yeast Infections * High Cholesterol Levels * Chronic Fatigue & Fibromyalgia * Frequent Colds and Flu Let's face it; few, if any of us, can honestly say that we have perfect diets. And just like your lawn, it is wise to " reseed " areas that have become barren for one reason or another. With Probiotic Plus, you get the optimal formula to successfully " reseed " the microflora in your gut with good bacteria for better overall health. Why It's Smart to Keep an Extra Bottle On-Hand for Diarrhea or If You Travel Overseas In addition to their incredible daily benefits, probiotics are incredibly useful when traveling to foreign countries or when eating at suspicious restaurants. Nearly 75% of the US population comes down with some food borne infection every year. I've found that using a high quality probiotic like Probiotic Plus Formula every 30-60 minutes will typically resolve most cases of acute infectious diarrhea relatively quickly. I have seen this work so consistently that I advise all my patients traveling overseas to make sure they take a bottle with them when they travel overseas. I can assure you it is always in my shaving kit when I travel overseas. If You Are Taking Antibiotics Without Probiotics, You Are Taking Unnecessary Risks Here's a classic " catch-22: " Your doctor prescribes an antibiotic for you to take when you are sick, when your immune system is weakened. However, the antibiotics you get from your pharmacy are, for the most part, mycotoxins that have been shown to be immunosuppressants that will further weaken your immune system by destroying the friendly bacteria guarding your intestines! In fact, every time you swallow antibiotics, you kill large numbers of beneficial bacteria in your intestine, upsetting the delicate balance in your intestinal tract. And these friendly bacteria can be quickly replaced by hostile bacteria, including Candida yeast, a powerful member of the fungi family, and bad anaerobic bacteria. As your intestinal bacteria die, yeasts can thrive and even use their tendrils to literally poke holes through the lining of your intestinal wall, resulting in a syndrome called leaky gut. And yeasts are not the only possible cause of this syndrome. Some scientists have linked non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) such as naproxen and ibuprofen to the problem too. More recently, scientists presented findings that linked antibiotics with allergies and asthma2 Researchers concluded the changes to both the growth of bacteria and fungi within the GI tract from antibiotics disrupted the function of your regulatory T cells to lessen the immune system reaction to respiratory allergens. So, it's important to remember that while your antibiotic may save you from one problem, it may cause a host of other problems. There is a common misconception that you should wait until you are finished with your antibiotic to start taking probiotics. Even though the antibiotic is killing the good bacteria, that's exactly when you need it the most! You should also be aware that, even if you careful to avoid antibiotic prescriptions, you still might be taking them with every bite of beef3 you eat. That's because more antibiotics per pound are used on livestock than in human medicine. Nearly every restaurant does uses factory farmed beef that are exposed to these antibiotics, so even if you avoid them at home, you will likely be exposed when you eat away from home. By simply taking an occasional probiotic, not only will you decrease your risk of developing allergies and asthma, but also you will strengthen your immune system helping you to avoid a need for antibiotics in the first place! Each Serving Contains Over 26 BILLION " Good " Bacteria Fighting For Your Health! So now you know why probiotics are necessary. But in order to do their job effectively, probiotic population must be high, and the strains of microorganisms viable and of good quality -- and that's why you need Probiotic Plus. Probiotic Plus â„¢ forms colonies in the intestinal tract where they aid your body to absorb nutrients and establish proper pH. Unlike other probiotic forms, Probiotic Plus â„¢ thrives in acidic conditions where it literally devours undigested matter, and eliminates yeast, parasites and bad bacteria from the intestines! Each serving of Probiotic Plus Formula â„¢ contains over 26 billion (that's 2 billion more than the industry standard) " good " health-promoting bacteria that have been specially cultured to survive stomach acids and the digestive process. Probiotic Plus' exclusive formula improves the environment of your intestinal tract by using multiple strains of probiotics that include: * Lactobacillus acidophilus -- two strains that are a necessary inhabitants of your intestinal tract, the beneficial properties of Lactobacillus acidophilus are synthesis of B vitamins, production of the natural antibiotic Acidophilin, and inhibition of the growth of pathological bacteria. * Lactobacillus Casei -- The most potent of all lactobacillus strains, this natural producer of lactic acid aids in the digestion of a wide range of carbohydrates and other nutrients. * Bifidobacterium longum -- A potent body cleanser and strengthener of the immune system that may also help normalize cholesterol levels. * Lactobacillus bulgaricus -- A natural producer of lactic acid and has strong natural antibiotic properties and is a powerful immune system enhancer. * Streptococcus thermophilus -- Often used in yogurt and Kefir, it possesses anti-carcinogenic and anti-tumor properties, helps the digestion of milk sugar, and possesses natural antibiotic properties. Guest guest
Hi Sharon, I know everything that is said about importance of probiotics is true. I have a supportive story to tell about probiotics but for brevity I won't tell it... Anyway, couldn't hurt to try it. I know plenty of brands with multiple strains now, including Dannon with it's Activia, and many organic brands with 6 or 7 strains. Goat's milk may be better. I've heard good things about it. I don't like the taste of goat products but I could hold my nose for a tablespoon of it. I think though there is SOME other problem with why these probiotics are not 'solving' the many gut problems that have arisen. I don't know what it is. However when I was just ten, I had ulcerated throat after having been given too strong of an antibiotic. The incompetent doctor who gave to me, when seeing it, told me to take an otc brand of antiseptic, not knowing what it was. It came in a spray bottle and one squirt of that sent me into intense pain, so off to the ENT doctor. He said he had never seen a worse case of whatever he called it...but too much antibiotic. He asked all his staff to come in to where I was and look into my mouth, so they could see what too strong an antibiotic can do to gi tract, luckily visible in my mouth!! Then he told me to drink buttermilk every night until it went away. Yogurt was available but not popular...okay, now I must sound like grandma moses. Anyway, within a couple of days, and actually a great deal of relief just overnight, throat sores went away. Point of story, it didn't take that long to correct with plain old buttermilk. Now people are taking huge quantities of specially prepared probiotics and still having trouble. I think problem must be bad bacteria or fungus has taken hold and you aren't going to get those beneficial bacteria some 'real estate' in your gi tract without some plan to get rid of those baddies SIMULTANEOUSLY while introducing the beneficial bacteria. It shouldn't take MASSIVE amounts of beneficial bacteria grown in some distant land from perfectly contented, and well rainsed goats. However, sounds good otherwise!!! --- snk1955@... wrote: > > Hi All, > I received this email today. This is blatantly > an ad for a particular brand > of probiotics. But, its a darn good ad. Until you wrote that, I had forgotten that when I was a kid, my mother was also told to get me to drink buttermilk. Along with raw liver. I would not do either one. I was diagnosed as anemic. Had to take B12 shots weekly and ultraviolet light treatments. This was in 1969. Amazing what the doctors used to know but do not any longer. I think I might buy this stuff. It doesn't look like it could hurt anything and 5 years after an excessive exposure, I am getting some funky symptoms that are indicative of a susceptibility to fungi. But all and all, my health is good. Sharon

Now, it's all about drugs. I would never consider myself to be a sickly person. I have always been healthy and relatively athletic. But there have been bouts. I was sickly in Kindergarten. I only made 25 days of school. I would have one thing after another. Nothing long term, but a bunch of them. German measles. Three day measles, chicken pox, ear infections, sore throats, ring worm, bronchitis, hepatitis (although I question this last diagnosis), I even got a fever that was so high, I was delirious. That was 1960. When I was in the 8th grade, I got sick again. I had been to the dentist. The guy could not get me numb. He gave me several shots of novacain. The whole side of my face was numb, but not where the idiot was drilling. I got sick after that experience. Fever, chills, etc. But not bad enough to keep me down. I was playing barefoot in the snow with my friends the next day. After that, I got really sick. Major sore throat. Bad ear ache. Really tired. Developed anemia. Got Pitiriasis Rosea. I would come home from school everyday and take a two hour nap. My Mom and Dad were really worried. My Dad used to make milkshakes for me with buttermilk - had forgotten that until I read your post. With the B12 shots, iron pills and UV treatments, and time, I got better. Did not think another thing about this, until I started getting an understanding of fungal induced illnesses. Wish I could go back and talk to the doctor that treated me. He was really old at that time even (ya know, probably all of 60). If he was 60 in 1960, then what did he know from 40 years as a practitioner- mainly before the broad usage of antibiotics? I think there is much valuable knowledge that has been lost within the medical community today.

Guest guest
I have read somewhere that once " sensatized " or would it be better to say poisoned(isn't that what it really is when it gets in your blood stream?) by myco's that you will increasely become more sensative to all chemicals with each exposure. > > > In a message dated 8/14/2006 4:23:57 P.M.
