Hello all,

Am out of my mind with fear and need help / info.

About a month ago I came down with the worst " flu " - night sweats, fever,

affected the lungs so bad that I can baely breath now and lung capacity

is way down from normal levels before. Now 6 weeks later I am on Albuterol

- and I am not an asthmatic. After going back thre time and being given

Antibiotics - the fourth time they wanted to put me on a Steroid inhaler

and one of the strongest Anti-s on the market. I said no way. If they didn't

take care of it the first time another isn't going to and they will have

to look for another cause. (Not taking steroids for love nor money either)

Here's the bad part. They took a lung Xray. They found a nodule on my lung.

Small, but a nodule all the same.

Possibilities include: mold colonization, early lung cancer, valley fever

or just nothing. Had a CT scan yesterday and get results Wed from a Pulmonary

specialist. This is through my regular HMO.

Marinkovich reckons it's mold colonization and put me on Sporanox. Interestingly

enough the breathing got a bit better after only two days on it and at low

levels. Am working up to a full dose.

Does anybody have any info out there on effects of lung colonizaton?? I

mean I am scared out of my mind. Did that " flu " put me over the edge with

my immune system so depressed? Was it blind luck they found a nodule so

early?? Was it really a flu?

Help.

Angelika
