all I was trying to state is that if your aware of your invironment

and you move into a place and notice that you are haveing mold growth

on fruit or your bread or other food items, much faster than usual

that it could be a reflection that there may be a moisture and or

mold problem in that home. I think if I noticed this and others

too, it could just be something worth paying attention too. if there

are any signs to help reconize early signs of a mold problem for

those who are not sick yet, no matter how small, they may be worth

mentioning.if you move in somewhere where the mold problem has been

covered up, this could be a early warning, just something to think

about. I'm not saying that if you have some fruit rot to run for your

life. I have no dought that wives and mothers pay attention to foods

freshness more than anyone else in the home. lets just assume that

most people here still have a brain. I can read between the lines, I

dont have to have a long drawed out explanation of everything thats

said here. if I dont get it, I will ask. and if everything I post is

going to be analized to death, I wont post anymore. yes, I have some

brain damage, my spelling is bad,and I suffer some short term memory

loss. if we had all the answers we wouldn't be here. if this is just

a board for experts, where are they? I dont need, what I dont say to

be brought to attention, pardon me if I assume that everyone here has

a brain and can read between the lines. I'm not perfect, I'm sick

from long term mold exposure, I'm doing what I can and thats it. I

have a lot on my plate, I came here for a break from it, to see if

somethings new and to relate to others going through what I am

because this is a very lonely illness. if I cant post without it

getting analized to death, I wont post anymore. no expert setting

here moritoring this board is going to truely get what we are going

through inless they are sick from exposure their selfs, even than it

may be a matter of just how long they were exposed and to what. no

one is going to tell me what I and I alone have experienced. theres

no way you can. this is hard enough to deal with without haveing

people thinking they know more when they haven't been in my shoes.

please give us a little credit for haveing a brain, even if we dont

post like a professional, because we may just know something that

they

dont.

I'm sure no one has intentionally meant to step on anyones toes or

to hurt anyones feelings. We all know that this type of condition

can often distort how we view things, we may read something and

interpet one way and it was meant in a totally different manner.

This unfortunately happens more times than most of us care to

admit. And when we take a " hit " of whatever our emotions, logic and

general thought process all go off in different directions.

We all have " off " days, many times we don't even realize we

are " off " . I know that happens to me and I can't be the only one.

No one should have to feel guarded about expressing themselves here,

this group is sort of like a VERY BIG dysfunctional family,

sometimes we get on each others nerves, sometimes we can make each

other cry (for whatever reason), but most importantly we are here

for each other.

I know when times like this happen to me I take a step back until I

get a better grip on things. (Now no smart remarks from some of you

who know me personally.lol)

Everyone should be proud of their contributions to this issue. Each

person is important and unique. Walk proud.......

Re: ^Testing carpet for mold and bacteria- how?

I gave up on all the testing, mold plates and such years ago as being

completely useless as a personal guide. I only perceive their use as

a demonstration for someone else.

So I don't know where to get them anymore.

Usually people have good mold indicators all around them without the

need for any plate.

Shower enclosures, toilet tanks, cutting boards and vegetables give

me all the signs I need.

Onions, in particular are exceptionally good for mold detection.

In my mothers house, you can leave onions out until they dry up so

pristinely that they look like they could be used as dried onions for

cooking.

In the mold castles that make me feel like crap, onions always show

concentrations of various molds.
