Guest guest
Hi, I had a hectic day - it was my last day at work for this week and next so alot of loose ends to tie. I did get another excellent review from my boss (so I'll get a 2% bonus - last time it went to taxes and the dog's surgery - but maybe this time.... ) so, while it is nice to be appreciated, but I'm still way over-worked with no growth potential in my current position (but I'm okay with that until my daughter is a little older anyway, or until the DH gets on my case about making more money! *SIGH* Anyway, this morning to fit in my missing buns and cardio workout from this week I tried a virgin - Self's Your Best Butt Fast with Violet Zaki. I like Violet - she has a cool accent and a martial arts background. I only wish she put out more advanced workouts - she has one with Crunch (Cardio Sculpt) that is good, but not very tough. She did Trainer's Edge Killer Kicks, which I understand wasn't very tough either. This one was sort of middle-of-the road intensity. I liked it because there was alot of variety - following a warm-up there is a short kickboxing segment (focusing mainly on kicks to work the butt), then a traditional toning segment that uses light to moderate weights, then a dancer inspired section followed by a yoga inspired section. All of the different disciplines and exercises within them are designed to work (as Tony Horton says) " your best asset. " The DVD also has a bonus ab routine which I did - standard athletic style ab work. It is filmed outdoors which is nice (on a beach) and there are two backgrounders with Violet. One does show modifications, although it is not always easy to see her. Overall, I felt that i got a good and varied lower body routine in. The workout plus the abs was about 45 minutes long. I followed that up with Turbo Jam Cardio Party Re-Mix. And " oldie " but a goodie in my collection. I think I'm off now to watch the " How to Bring It " DVD from P90X. I'm still thinking about whether or not I want to splurge on this set. On the one hand, I really am interested in the challenge, but on the other hand I really don't want my workouts to be " work " - if you know what I mean - sure, I want effective routines but I also want fun. Maybe previewing these workouts (thanks again!!) will show me that these could be both. I just have a feeling that if it is too serious or too much like " work " that I won't do them, and I don't want to spend the money and just use them for the 90 day rotation and then never again. Well, like I said, I think I just need to shut up now and preview. Take care - and I owe so many responses, but I need to chill out tonight and be quiet. I'm afraid the pace at work is going to start to pick up once schools are back in session. Oh well - at least i'll be away for a week and a half! Take care, Donna ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Be a better Heartthrob. Get better relationship answers from someone who knows.
