I had a bizarre experience with EEG's in that I have irregular ones - I had my first one at 16 following neurological symptoms after a really bad car accident. The EEG showed seizures (can't remember which kind, etc) and we had it interpreted by two different neurologists because I'd never had seizures. They tried to force me to go on meds, my doc, two neurologists were adamant that I should be on meds in spite of never having any seizures in my life!!!

I took the meds for a month or two, hated them and stopped. 20 years later and I've still never had a seizure...that's just my expreience but since I've been through that I wouldn't take my child for an EEG considering he might be forced to go on uwarranted meds.

Don't know what that's worth but it's something to keep in mind....

Darla ~doin just fine with the irregular brain waves....
