Guest guest
Hi Eileen Best wishes to you and and lots of happiness too and hope J will continue to pogress for you Eva eileen_mclennan wrote: Hi e veryone,Not posted for a while - been out of circulation, had a brush with the Big C, operation on colon and uterus (yuk) absolutely fine now, went on 's private healthcare for a week, felt like I was having a holiday! I was!Only thing that was missing was the minibar. Anyway good news is and I got married on 22nd December, being gluttons for punishment/nutters, we did it in secret and didn't tell anyone, our two therapists were our witnesses and my best friend our best woman, tell you, way to go. lined up his trains on the registrar's table, and they were so cool and lovely about it, then he did a runner from our wedding pictures. We have some though which I'll email you Mandi. Will send everything I promised to folks, starts his VB school part-time on Monday so fingers crossed. This Christmas was so different from last when he was in a major regression - a year has brought significant recovery - and with the wedding I began to think there might be life after autism (don't panic it was only for a minute). Seriously though and Me had got so immersed in Jay we had allowed no time for ourselves, when we got out for our posh lunch after the wedding, we realised doing more for us meant we were happy, so was Jay. So we are going out - not at night - but scheduling for daytimes when Jay is at school, and joining the other OAP's at bingo and pub.Biomeds - still using the Zeolite, Jay still plagued by yeast, using Candex 3 a day, and some nystan, dark circles under his eyes, we think B12 injections main cause of yeasties but won't give them up because results of everything have been so good, he continues to do well, commenting on stuff now (loud voice in airport to handler "PUT MY THINGS BACK IN MY CASE NOW" Me: Sorry, he's autistic. Jay: No I am fed up! However sensory still a problem, I would not wish on anyone the scene we had in the hairdressers when he majorly freaked out despite huge amounts of gorgeous legal sweets. Also he's started chucking himself on the floor again a bit (I must admit I wanted to do the same in Debenhams sale and took him home). Toilet training nightmare has returned - I cannot rely on him asking me as much as he used to and we are getting some accidents. I suspect this is metal dumping but can't prove it of course. A cool thing though, he is eavesdropping on our conversations ( to me: Where do you want to go for coffee? Jay: we're not going to Burger King, are we?) Jay's asking who what and where questions very fluently now, and we are getting one or two "how's" which is great. We would say results have been biomed based because they came pre therapy, and when we've added something that worked, Jay brings his own skills to therapy. Most of all, though we think the B12 and Zeolite were winners for us.On therapy side, Jay's rattling through the ablls now so we are bringing floortime into his VB therapy. His program is more comprehensive but I wish we'd done more of it before. The book is a winner - Children with Special Needs by Stanley Greenspan. It has a supportive chapter on biomed at the end unlike the VB books who usually have nothing or a government health warning about how nothing works.Think of you all a lot, always praying for one or other of you when I get the chance, so glad we found this site, without the things we've done Jay would still be running up and down the front room all day. Fight on!Happy, Healing New Year to you all fromEileen, and xxxxDISCLAIMERNo information contained in this post is to be construed as medical advice. Well done for managing to be a happy family and help – that takes a lot!
