Dear

Larissa,

I really appreciate this,

thanks. Tom has learnt tons from videos and so I’m delighted to get

someone else’s recommendation. I’m going straight to Amazon to get

a DVD.

Just to

inform people that we have bought our son (4) the magic key

dvd, he asked for for christmas and it is really helping his language

skills and understanding of sentances etc. as well as social skills,

he is asking him to ask him a question at the moment and when we do he

gives us a big smile and usually a yes or no answer. He also loves it

because it has subtitles. You get the whole seris as well which are

stories and then comprehension stories. I would recomended it as it is

gentle as well so it does not have too many manic bits in it that get

him too exited and copy which usually means throwing himself on

something or some one!

Thanks I will do this. My daughter doesn't turn her pronouns round ie

she says you for herself and I instead of you. She copies sentences in

blocks. When she was about 13 I was able to teach her about pronouns as

a sort of lesson and now she tries and will say "Well done, I got my

pronouns right" when she has done. Also still gets them wrong when not

remembering to change them.

Hi , Sherston also do ORT Stage1-5 software. My severly autistic son started to read and use the computer fluently because of these as eg " they looked at the elephant" and then he could click and hear a brilliant trumpeting sound which was hugely reinforcing.NinaEva family wrote: Thanks I will do this. Hi Sally,

I’ve just bought a VB dvd on tacting

from difflearn. It tells you how to deal with this (pronouns) very simply and

cleverly, in my humble opinion, but then again, I love VB. (you could do this

without running the therapy)

YOu can pick up the Magic Key videos on Ebay all the time. For some

reason it's generally a video called The Rook King. I could live

without ever hearing the theme music again however...

saying good things about it and I had been going to try and find out

about it.

Look at this

www.vbcommunity.co.uk

this has a couple of clips of vb in

action. However you have to be aware that this kind of intensive table top

teaching only lasts for a tiny bit of the session. Don’t take it as an

example of how your sessions will look rather as an example of how successful they’ve

been with the kid in the videos who’s been doing it for a year,

apparently. (Tom’s been doing it for 9 months and is at a similar level).

The sessions are actually loads of fun and very very child friendly.

And look at

www.difflearn.com

for the shop

and

http://www.difflearn.com/prodinfo.asp?number=DRD%20431 & top=28

for the actual video
