Guest guest
Hi there everyone and happy new year! Our 4 year old is just starting diflucan and a range of supplements and we want to give activated charcoal to help ease the die off but are unsure as to how much to give and when to give it - he has supplements at breakfast and lunch and tea and his last supplements have to be 2 hours after his tea at 5pm so would be 7pm so we are a bit at a loss as to know when to give the activated charcoal as he goes to bed at 7pm. thanks so mcuh sharon

This was fine if during hols but more tricky if your child is at school. At night, we would wake him up at about 10pm to give it then. We gave 4 caps a day and this worked well for us. I understood that we could have gone up to 8 for a few days if needs be but we kept at 4 a day. Hope this helps you. Its good stuff!! Guest guest
Hi Sharon our dr says one hour before and 2 hours after supps also earlier in the day better. So when we use it we give about 10.30-11am ( well his TA does - she is good and does as I ask - I explain the importance of timing and say his behavior is awful without it!) hth Peta-- - In Autism Treatment , STRUIC1@... wrote: > > Hi there everyone and happy new year! > > Our 4 year old is just starting diflucan and a range of supplements and we > want to give activated charcoal to help ease the die off but are unsure as to > how much to give and when to give it - he has supplements at breakfast and > lunch and tea and his last supplements have to be 2 hours after his tea at 5pm > so would be 7pm so we are a bit at a loss as to know when to give the > activated charcoal as he goes to bed at 7pm. > > thanks so mcuh > > sharon >
Guest guest
Thanks so much Helen - that's so helpful - we're really hoping giving it will ease the pain for all of us!! Can I just ask how you gave it to your son? Our little boy won't swallow capsules so do i put it in some water or rice milk instead? sharon x
Guest guest
Thanks again Helen - we had a go this morning by putting it into rice milk and giving it to him with a syringe - it did look pretty horrible but he took it all and has spent the rest of the day asking for more!! Great idea about the puree though as he loves his Clearspring puree pear "puddings". Fingers crossed for the 10pm wake-up call!! sharon x

We break them open ( they look like black powder paint!!) and mix them into heinz organic apple and pear fruit puree. It turns it black but thankfully didn't put him off eating it. Hope that helps. Good luck. Helen >
