Guest guest
We used NAC early on and also found it helpful. Andy Cutler recommends keeping it low 100-200 mgs per day while chelating, but it's fine to give and we never used NCD so nothing was mopping it up. The ARI has been wrong about a number of things, they even said drinking milk will drive mercury into a kid's brain, we chelated and are not cf, she did quite well. I saw a study where they used either NAC or Vitamin C with two groups of people in an attempt to raise glutathione and while both raised it, C did better. NAC is helpful for those kids with low plasma cysteine, usually, and ours was very low in cysteine. Improvement with NAC Dear all,We are seeing another pretty significant improvement in Eddie since we tentatively tested NAC. We built up to one half capsule and saw an improvement. We missed a day and saw a deterioration and tried a full capsule today and had a very good day (despite having to tackle clostridia again). We think it has given Eddie lots of energy (so maybe not a good supp if a child is usually hyperactive!?) In summary he's even more flexible, very very interactive, not repetitive and VERY happy. Even speech has improved (and we thought this was very good already). The improvement is even more noticeable coming so close to a regression. We are over one year into biomed - NAC is NOT recommendded early on because it can foster yeast - the big ARI Biomed book also warns it can move heavy metals around since NAC is a precursor to glutathione (Eddie is profoundly low on this). It also mentions that NAC has one of the worst performances in terms of improvement vs deterioriation. So we are pretty surprised to see such a noticeable improvement. We've done a bit of reading today and are confused (as alway :-) !) Andy Cutler likes NAC and lists it as a supplement that CAN be taken while chelating.Eddie is currently taking nystatin - so yeast is well under control. He's also taking high dose NCD (zeolite) which might be "mopping up" and metal movements? Is anyone else taking NAC and finding big improvements?Best wishes,Sandy
Guest guest
We have seen alot more interaction, increased language, 3-4 consecutive sentences, lots of use of conjunctions, watching Sleeping Beauty attentively from start to finish...not to mention J (5:1 yrs) realising that now Christmas is over, " Can we get the Easter things down from the attic?/ When is it going to be Easter? etc.," >>>Wow great news! Guest guest
>Hi We are supplementing with 200 mg per day and continue this on chelation days. We will not increase until we have investigated amino acids further. We know that glutathione production has been a problem (in sufficient quantities) but glutathione now seems to be on the increase. We have had yeast creeping back in but have reintroduced Sacc Boul and will be introducing further measures once finished with the wormwood mix. This keeps the lid on the yeast to a certain extent. Although we have had a bit more running around we have also seen improvements. In the absence of HBOT (haven't been for 3 wks) and no other supplement regime change, we suspect cysteine has been the key factor in this.
