Claudio Giorlandino, gynaecologist, warns women of all ages for this disturbance. " In summer more women suffer from problems at the private parts - Giorlandino says - The warmth, the use of synthetic cloths and the higher risk of alteration of the bacterial vaginal flora due to food and the stress of adaptation, can create the ideal environment for vaginal bacteria, from Candida to cystitis. Very annoying infections that ruin a vacation and, if not cured well, can cause serious problems, like infertility " . According to research by Prof Giorlandino involving over 2000 women - checked from January to today with problems of burning, itching or pain when having sex - vaginitis, in particular Candida, doubles in de warm months. The research shows that the distribution of infections changes in that period, with an increase in fungal infections. " Often to prevent these unwanted guests - the expert explains - all that is needed is to follow some simple hygienic rules: only wear cotton underwear and change it every day, pants that are not to tight because they create a moist zone that is ideal for the growth of fungi. Shower rather than bath. Wash, without using soap, and above all dry the private parts with care. Don't use towels used by other people, not even family " . In particular, according to the expert, it is no good wearing a wet bathing suit for too long a time, change as soon as possible and wear it again only when dry. " Yes " to tampons, better than external sanitary towels but don't wear them for more than four hours. Rinse well all underwear to prevent traces of soap and iron it to kill possible germs. Avoid - prof Giorlandino concludes - every contact between the vagina and deodorants, be careful with serviette and toilet paper, soap and shower products. And during sex use condoms with every new partner " . - 151447 LUG
